FOR ALL THE SAINTS
SEPTEMBER 9, 2021
ALL SAINTS IS OPEN FOR PRAYER ON 9/11.
In a world of so much uncertainty, pain and grief, prayer is what draws us towards God, towards peace and towards unity rather than towards fear and anger. This Saturday, the 20th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11, our doors will be open for prayer from 9:11 AM - 11 AM.

O God who brings life from death, we commemorate this day the loss of life, the tragic sacrifices, and remember with sorrow the broken results of terror in our midst. With lives rebuilding, countries changed forever, and hearts still breaking, we pause to ask that good may yet rise from the ashes and smoke. Help us neither forget our past, nor be in bondage to it (written by The Rev. Kent H. Gilbert)

Mother Lisa will be installed as the Sixth Rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, September 14 at 6 PM. Join the celebration at 7801 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, 32211 or www.youtube.com/standrewsjax.
HURRICANE IDA RELIEF: WRITE A CHECK FOR EPISCOPAL RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT
THIS SUNDAY!
Help our brothers and sisters in Louisiana THIS SUNDAY by writing a check for Hurricane Ida relief through Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD)!

Thank you to those who have already donated! All Saints will again be collecting donations for Hurricane Relief through Episcopal Relief and Development. ERD are on the ground right now supporting relief efforts in the Diocese of Louisiana and other regional partner areas who have been impacted by Hurricane Ida. This Category 4 Hurricane brought flooding and damaging winds that caused a loss of water to hundreds of thousands and a loss of electricity to over 1 million people. Episcopal Relief and Development is planning to be a part of the long term response in the relief efforts.

If you'd like to help, please consider making a donation over the next four Sundays. You can write a check to "All Saints" and in the memo line write "HURRICANE RELIEF". You can also place cash in one of the church envelopes in the pews and write "HURRICANE RELIEF" on the front. Each week, All Saints will transfer all the money collected for Hurricane relief directly to Episcopal Relief and Development.

If you'd like more information on the important work of ERD, check out their website HERE.

Morning Prayer with Mtr. Sarah on Zoom!
Continuing THIS MONDAY at 8am!
In many times and places, daybreak has been a time of prayer. Jews prayed in their synagogues at sunrise as well as at other times each day. This Jewish pattern of prayer formed the basis of the Christian monastic Daily Office, with its prayers or “hours” at seven times in each day. Thomas Cranmer’s revision of the Daily Office for the first English Prayer Book (1549) reduced the number of services to two - one for morning (Matins) and one for evening (Evensong or vespers). In the Second English Prayer Book (1552), the morning service was given its present name, Morning Prayer.

Mother Sarah would love for you to join her on Monday mornings at 8 AM via Zoom to pray the service of Morning Prayer from the Daily Office. What better way to start your week than a sweet reminder that your days belong to God and that you are never alone? Just open up your computer or smart phone, and click HERE to join. The meeting ID is 861 8284 3074 and the passcode to enter the Zoom meeting is 034101 Or just email Mother Sarah HERE for the Zoom invitation.
Come and be nourished with the Word of God and prayer!

Coffee Hour in the Courtyard!
The Men's Breakfast Committee will be serving individually packaged donuts and fresh, hot coffee in the courtyard starting at 9am! It's not exactly the full breakfast buffet All Saints was known for prior to the pandemic, but it's our next step back in that direction! And following the 10am service, the coffee will be refreshed for a "Coffee Hour" for anyone who'd like to gather in the courtyard to catch up with friends at church!
So, start planning to arrive at church a little early again on Sunday mornings or stay a little late for "Donuts and Coffee in the Courtyard" at All Saints!
