Matthew 9:9-13 (KJV)
9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
May I call to your attention Verse 12:

What I am about to preach may NOT preach well...............................
I do not demand any abide by MY words but I see a very different Jesus..................
The JESUS I see and the JESUS I serve did not and was not seeking man's affirmation or the world's “standard” of “success!!!”
Did not out Lord and Savior cry:
Luke 16:15 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
MANY OF YOU-YES YOU-toil today in obscurity!!!
YOU may be a “lowly” teacher laboring away in an ungrateful public school setting......
YOU may be a FAITHFUL caregiver for an ailing and invalid loved one................
YOU may be the parent of a child-one among your other “good” children-who has veered horribly off course and causing much turmoil in your precious family.....

Please allow me a personal aside here if you will.
Little Amanda has absolutely RUINED her mother and I's lives and damaged all our personal relations with our immediate family, friends, loves ones AND ministry.
WE were sternly warned and admonished early on-almost 21 years ago-by a wizened old head nurse at Kennesaw Hospital!!
How well do I remember her taking us outside Amanda's room in ICU and informing us bluntly what caring for a horribly disabled person would cost us.
Her advice was to “pull the plug” humanely and allow Amanda to die peaceably........
Beloved, there are two things in my life I will never know “in this life” whether I made the correct decision???
One being the decision to NOT pull the plug and two, MY decision to turn my own son in for murder.................................
ALL I DO know is this:
1 Corinthians 15:19 (KJV)
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
I well remember reading and absorbing the teachings of a little booklet called 'THE DISCIPLINED LIFE” by Richard S. Taylor.
I read this book in the very beginning of my Christian life and this one thing impacted all my later years-
Mr. Taylor declared simply “The Apostle Paul was not ALWAYS happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
This much acclaimed and now applauded man of God wrote these Words:
2 Corinthians 11:30 (KJV)
30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.
I do not think Paul spoke much about his “successes and successful ministry,” the thousands of peole he had personally ministered and preached too........
He only “gloried” in his INFIRMITIES!!
INFIRMITIES-from <G772> (asthenes); feebleness (of body or mind); by implication malady; moral frailty :- disease, infirmity, sickness, weakness.
