Wendy Prellwitz was educated at Rhode Island School of Design and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and splits her time between the North Fork of Long Island and Cambridge, Massachusetts. With deep roots on the North Fork, Wendy's family goes back 4 generations, when her great grandparents, also artists, built a home and studio on Peconic Bay. Having visited & lived there from childhood summers through the present, Prellwitz’s work reflects a deep connection with the water along with the light that illuminates her historic studio.
Ms. Prellwitz continues her 30+ years exhibiting her works in galleries and museums throughout New England, on Long Island, and beyond and has included exhibitions at The Long Island Museum and Nassau County Museum of Art, as well as Alex Ferrone Gallery and East End Arts, all on Long Island, NY; Alpers Fine Art in Rockport, MA; Art Associations in Cambridge and Concord, MA; as well as Cove St Arts in Portland, ME, among others.
Accolades and awards for her work include a fellowship from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, a grant from the St. Botolf Club, and the Spirit Award from Maud Morgan Arts commemorating her co-founding of the city-wide Cambridge art center.
