Monterey Park Mayor & Two Former Monterey Park Mayors Endorse Jack Orswell for California's 27th Congressional District.
Mitchell Ing, Betty Chu and Frank Venti endorse Jack Orswell for Congress over incumbent Rep. Judy Chu.

Monterey Park, California - September 4, 2012 - Mitchell Ing, the Mayor of Monterey Park, has endorsed candidate Jack Orswell for the 27th Congressional District, which extends from Pasadena to Upland and includes the cities of Monterey Park, Rosemead and Alhambra. In addition, Orswell has received the endorsements of former Monterey Park Mayors Betty Chu and Benjamin "Frank" Venti.

"Jack Orswell is the best congressional candidate with real solutions and is fiscally responsible. He will represent our community well," said Monterey Park Mayor Mitchell Ing, a registered Democrat.

According to Betty Chu, who served as Monterey Park Mayor in 2006, "Jack Orswell is the only candidate in this race who has extensive and sustained positive real life work experiences involving job creation, national security, environmental accountability, fiscal responsibility and small business success---experiences gained from the small business, private and government sectors. His volunteer activities have enhanced multi-cultural understanding and moral and ethical values in our communities."

Frank Venti, a registered Democrat who served 12 years on the Monterey Park City Council and was Mayor for three terms in 2000, 2005 and 2009, said "I have been on the same city council with Judy Chu, Jack's opponent in this very crucial election. I ask that each voter seriously look at Judy Chu's voting record in Washington. She has been voted at the bottom of the list for getting things done in Congress. She voted to remove "In God We Trust" off our currency. The San Gabriel Valley deserves better than a representative who would insult people with Faith!"

"It is an honor to receive the support of Mayors Ing, Chu and Venti," Orswell said. "They all share my belief that the people of the 27th Congressional District want a representative who has the real life experience to get the problems solved in Washington. I have the commitment, compassion and courage it takes to be a member in today's Congress and I appreciate receiving the endorsements of these three prominent community leaders."

Orswell, a small business owner and former FBI Agent, also has the support of retiring United States Congressman David Dreier, Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich and Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley, among many others. Orswell is opposing Rep. Judy Chu in the November 6th General Election, who currently represents the 32nd Congressional District.
