Registered Sex offender Arraigned for Disturbing, Bizarre Acts Near Church

Mount  Clemens, MI - Today, a 60-year-old registered sex offender was arraigned in connection with several disturbing incidents that occurred in the downtown Mount Clemens area.


It is alleged that on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, Scott Allen Schultz attempted to enter multiple homes that were occupied.  While on the porch of one home, he allegedly exposed himself and began touching his penis.


Schultz is charged with three counts of Attempted Home Invasion in the First Degree (five year felony), Indecent Exposure by a Sexually Delinquent Person (potential life felony). He is also a habitual fourth felony offender.  He was arraigned in 41B Clinton Twp. District Court where Magistrate Ryan Zemke set bond at $500,000 cash/surety.  Upon release the defendant is to wear a GPS steel cuff tether, have a mental health assessment and have no contact with any of the victims or St. Peter’s Church. No further court date is scheduled at this time.

Simultaneously, we recognize the importance of addressing mental health concerns where appropriate,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
