THOUSANDS PRAY AND MARCH IN MEMORY OF MILLIONS

Annual North Texas March for Life Events this Saturday
|
DALLAS, JANUARY 15, 2018
--
This Saturday, January 20, 2018, thousands of North Texans will gather in downtown Dallas to prayerfully remember the inhumane loss of more than 60 million unborn children since the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade and to stand witness to the beautiful gift of LIFE.
The theme of this year's events is One small step for her, one giant leap for LIFE! In his open letter to the Dallas-area Catholic community, Bishop Greg Kelly reflected on the theme: "It speaks to the hopeful first step of each child only made possible through our openness to the gift of life." He went on to urge participation in this important remembrance: "Together, let us begin 2018 with a leap forward in faith -- praying, marching and witnessing to the sanctity of life."
The annual North Texas March for Life events are sponsored by the Catholic Pro-Life Committee, the Respect Life Ministry of the Diocese of Dallas; Texans for Life Coalition; and the Respect Life Office of the Diocese of Fort Worth.
"Looking back at a year beset by angry public discourse, revelations of abuse and tragic violence, this family-friendly day of events offers an opportunity for our community to come together in celebration of the one thing that connects us all -- our humanity from womb to tomb," says Catholic Pro-Life Committee Executive Director Becky Visosky.
The schedule of events open to the public are:
8:30 a.m. ROE MEMORIAL PRAYER VIGILS outside Southwestern abortion facility, 8616 Greenville Ave at Royal Ln, Dallas Planned Parenthood South facility, 7989 West Virginia Dr at Wheatland Rd, Dallas
10:00 a.m. PROCESSION OF ROSES, Cathedral Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe The procession is a beautiful memorial of 45 children, teens and adults in remembrance of the children lost to abortion in the year of their birth from 1973 to the present.
10:30 a.m. ROE MEMORIAL MASS (bilingual), Cathedral Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe A bilingual Mass will be celebrated by Dallas Bishop Edward Burns with Bishop Greg Kelly, Abbot Peter Verhalen, and Dallas Diocese priests.
12:30 p.m. NORTH TEXAS MARCH FOR LIFE and RALLY
Thousands will march from the Cathedral Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe (corner of Crockett and Flora Streets) to the rally outside of the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse, housing the district court where the Roe v. Wade case was first filed in 1970.
The Rally will include the inaugural Roe Memorial address of Bishop Edward Burns of the Diocese of Dallas, presentations by Deborah McGregor of CareNet Waco and popular Christian radio host
Dr. Adam Dooley, the powerful personal testimony of
Cristina Sanchez, and musical performance by the band
Anointed for Life with Delilah Gonzales.
Terri Schauf, Director of the Fort Worth Respect Life Office, will serve as the rally's emcee.
