New Brand Reflects Expanded Mission to Empower All Professionals in the I/DD Community
Columbus, OH — [August 12, 2025] — The Ohio Alliance of Direct Support Professionals (OADSP) proudly announces that it will unveil a refreshed brand identity as Lighthouse Cove on January 1, 2026. This transformation marks a pivotal moment in the organization's journey, reflecting its ongoing commitment to education, empowerment, and excellence—while expanding its mission to serve all professionals who support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
A Community of Practice & Safe Harbor for Growth and Connection
More than a name change, Lighthouse Cove symbolizes a trusted and steady presence for professionals navigating the complexities of the I/DD service field. Just as a lighthouse offers clarity and direction in uncertain conditions, Lighthouse Cove will provide:
- Support for professionals across Ohio and beyond
- Resources for personal and professional development
- Opportunities to connect, reflect, and grow
“Lighthouse Cove represents everything OADSP stands for—with an even broader and brighter lens,” said Bethany Toledo-McCray, Executive Director of OADSP. “It’s a space where professionals in the I/DD field can find clarity, connection, and meaningful growth through high-quality education and leadership development—gaining the tools they need to make a lasting impact.”
Brand Launch Timeline - The transformation into Lighthouse Cove is part of a comprehensive rollout that began with discovery and planning throughout 2024, and continues through 2025. Highlights of what to expect next:
-
September 2025 - RSVPs open for Lighthouse Cove’s grand debut: a dazzling New Year’s Eve edition of Jamming for DSPs
-
October 2025 - Kickoff of the public launch countdown, including information sharing and a dynamic social media campaign

The official launch will take place on December 31, 2025, at the Annual Jamming for DSPs event. This immersive, music-filled celebration will bring together key stakeholders, partners, media representatives, and community leaders to officially unveil the Lighthouse Cove brand and visual identity.
What Won't Change - The people and programs you know and trust will remain the same. The OADSP team will become the Lighthouse Cove team, continuing their commitment to the mission, vision, and values that define their work. Core programs—such as DSP-U, DSPaths, Leadership LAUNCHpad, and the Direct Leadership Certificate, will not only continue, but in many cases, grow and expand to serve an even broader audience. Annual events—including the Summit, DSP Recognition Event, and Beat the Winter Blues—will remain a vital part of ongoing efforts to support and celebrate the I/DD community.
Looking Ahead - Following the public launch, Lighthouse Cove will continue to build momentum with a sustained media strategy, engaging digital content, and strengthened community partnerships. The organization invites media outlets, influencers, and partners to help share the story far and wide.
