As our new fiscal year began in June 2021, we want to communicate to you about the fiscal year we leave behind, you know, the year of the pandemic.

Did you know we hosted 126 programs from June 2020 to May 31, 2021 with a total of 6900 attendees? Did you know we had 11 exhibitions in the Main Gallery for the same period highlighting over 200 photographers in that gallery alone? 7 photographers in the Griffin gallery, 7 photographers in the Atelier Gallery, 5 photographers in the Founders Gallery, 5 photographers in the WinCam Gallery, 11 photographers in Lafayette Gallery and well over a 100 photographers in our virtual galleries.

We held virtual New England Portfolio Reviews over 3 days in August 2020, kicked off by a Keynote lecture by Cristina de Middel. Our event was in partnership with the Photographic Resource Center. We hosted 27 international reviewers and 88 photographers, 9 of which were student scholarship awardees. In November 2020 we hosted a Picture the Future auction accompanied by the FOCUS AWARDS Year 14 ceremony and a multi-day symposium. We hosted a Photobook symposium in May 2021 over a multi-day period. No employee lost a job and we utilized our contract workers. We hosted an army of 21 interns.

We prepared all year to bring the Photoville THE FENCE year 9 and PhotoSynthesis XVI to Winchester for another year this June 2021 in partnership with the Winchester Cultural District and Photoville.

The John Chervinsky Scholarship of $3000 was awarded again for the 5th year. Tavon Taylor received the scholarship and also had an exhibition at the Griffin. We announced 7 finalists as well. The 6th year call for entry for the John Chervinsky opens on September 1, 2021. Prepare for your submission early by examining the application guidelines. The call will be held on Café this year. Tricia Capello, Bruce Myren and Connie and Jerry Rosenthal of Rfotofolio will be the jurors.

We received $50,000 in grants. We applied and received 2-PPP's as well which are not recorded as income but as loans on our balance sheet (until they are forgiven) per ruling of the IRS. One is forgiven and the second is in its beginning stages of the application forgiveness process. The PPP's are not included in our grant count.

We have been there for you as you are our reason to be. Can we count on you this year to participate in our programs, to attend our exhibitions, to volunteer, to join our membership and support our efforts? We know the answer is yes as you have been there all along. You are always welcomed here. Come All Aboard for another year!
