Book Signing Supports
Pilot Club of Atlanta

A book signing on March 18 during the Pilot Club of Atlanta's Fashion Show supported Pilot Priority Projects such as Hearts Everywhere Reaching Out for Children, Metro Atlanta Respite and Developmental Services, Inc., Georgia Artists with Disabilities (GAWD), and Relay for Life. Ten percent of Mystical Aria: Seeking the Gallion Queen book sales were donated to Pilot Club of Atlanta.

Pilot International was chartered on October 18, 1921 in Macon, Georgia, by Elizabeth Leonard and forty local businesswomen. The name "Pilot" was inspired by the riverboat pilots of that era, who represented leadership and guidance.

Encouraging STEM Careers for Girls

As a consultant with Daugherty Business Solutions, I participated in a WIT Girls immersion event on March 4 to give over twenty girls a sample experience of building a mobile app. The girls also learned about technology careers from local female leaders in software development practices.

Cyan D'Anjou, the daughter of one of my Daugherty colleagues, won an autographed copy of Mystical Aria: Seeking the Gallion Queen during this mobile app bootcamp.

Women in Technology (WIT) GIRLS collaborates with Georgia businesses to inspire girls in middle and high school to break through barriers and advance in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Fun Facts About the Author
When I thought about Spring, I remembered windy afternoons on the family's farm hilltops flying kites with my dad. He used his old neckties as kite tails. I learned which ties were out of style by the ones he gave me for my kite. He patiently taught me how to release just enough string for the wind to capture the kite so it wouldn't crash in the tall grass--or onto a cow.
