We are Making Progress!

The redecorating project For Such a Time as This is really coming together. As a reminder, our goal is to complete the major components of Phase One A, primarily the new floor, lighting, AV system, and some other features, by the second week of Advent, and we are currently running a week ahead of schedule.

This photo is from last Friday afternoon, October 25th, showing the new marble floor photo substantially complete with the Basilica crest front and center.

The Phase One A work will continue to accelerate this week, including…

           - beginning the installation of the altar and ambo,

           - preparing the platform for the new tabernacle stand and wall installation     

            - reworking the confessionals to create the Baptistry (1)

            - starting the finish work on the Marist Chapel of St. Peter Chanel

We are currently tracking to reach the goal of completing Phase One A by Advent. For the next several weeks an additional email will include updates and photos to record our progress.

Our goal is to create a welcoming environment that supports the various liturgies that occur within it, is balanced and appropriate for a Basilica, follows current liturgical guidelines, and respects the history of Sacred Heart.
