The Pieces are Coming Together!

We are in a very active stage of Phase One A of the redecorating project - For Such a Times as This - and many of the pieces are quite literally coming together now.

As a reminder, major components of Phase One A include the new Sanctuary flooring….

…the new furnishings, the Altar, and the Ambo…(delivered late last week)...

…a new Tabernacle stand resting on a new raised platform…

…and the creation of the Marist Adoration Chapel of St. Peter Chanel…

…and it also includes the new lighting in the Sanctuary, the new sound system, and the Baptistry. Later in Phase 1B, beginning after the Easter season of 2025, the painting of the church, the reimagined Triumphal Arch, and some other parts will be completed, to be followed by Phase 2. For a period of time, the church will be a hybrid of the old and the new.

Our goal is to create a welcoming environment that supports the various liturgies that occur within it, is balanced and appropriate for a Basilica, follows current liturgical guidelines, and respects the history of Sacred Heart.
