Kathleen's Pick: If you just started "Never Have I Ever" on Netflix...
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
When Dimple Shah and Rishi Patel meet at a Stanford University summer program, Dimple is avoiding her parents' obsession with "marriage prospects" but Rishi hopes to woo her into accepting an arranged marriage with him.

"If, like me, you're already hooked on this new Netflix series about a first generation Indian-American teen girl trying to make it through high school, then you have to check out Sandhya Menon's books! They offer a similar mix of comedy, romance, and culture clash. Not to mention, they're just lots of fun! "

Marie's Must-Read: If you are playing Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch...
Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
Eldest of three sisters in a land where it is considered to be a misfortune, Sophie is resigned to her fate as a hat shop apprentice until a witch turns her into an old woman and she finds herself in the castle of the greatly feared wizard Howl.

" One movie I LOVE to watch is Howl’s Moving Castle, it’s always been one of my favorites! However up until about a year ago I hadn’t yet read the original book! I KNOW book before movie (that what I tell everyone to) Anyways this book has become a comfort book to me, it’s an easy read with interesting characters, a little magic, a little drama and makes you feel good! It also has two companion books which are both equally good but never made into movies! Make sure to check out the book BEFORE the movie--don’t be like me  😉 "

Sam Suggests: If you are binge watching Outer Banks on Netflix...
Last True Poets of the Sea by Kendare Blake
Violet is shipped off to Maine after her brother's hospitalization, where she searches for the lost shipwreck that her great-great grandmother survived and for answers about her family's long struggle with mental illness, all while falling in love.

"What could be better than a teen love triangle, a sleepy seaside tourist town, and a shipwreck treasure hunt. A great realistic fiction book that reads like an escape from this dreary wet weather! "
--Sam
What Laura is Loving: If you've been in the kitchen a lot lately...
With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo
From the author of The Poet X comes a dazzling novel in prose about a girl with talent, pride, and a drive to feed the soul that keeps her fire burning bright. Ever since she got pregnant freshman year, Emoni Santiago's life has been about making the tough decisions-doing what has to be done for her daughter and her abuela. The one place she can let all that go is in the kitchen, where she adds a little something magical to everything she cooks, turning her food into straight-up goodness.

"If you've been cooking, baking or just eating a lot lately- this book will be a lovely complement to your time in the kitchen. It celebrates the alchemy of cooking and the power of food to warm the soul and give us strength. A recipe you can try begins each section of the book. "
--Laura
