For beginner investors:
Explaining the difference between
small, mid and large cap stocks
and why this is important to know
Here's a little inside Wall Street secret for you: A lot of its inside industry lingo is actually useless. Except to the person spouting it off, that is; things like "oversubscribed", "golden-cross", and "Hindenburg Omen"
Just talk over someone's head to come off as Mr. Smarty Pants, right? Wrong! It's more like you are coming off like a smart ass.
Personally, I am complimented when someone who reads or watches my content says to me "thanks for explaining that to me. I get it now"
There are names and classifications of assets, like stocks, that really do have meaning. Every industry has its own classifications because that's how it makes sense of different things.
If I were to explain to a novice investor how to diversify the stock market portion of one's 401(k) or IRA, I would start by saying exactly what I say in the video below.
And please share this with someone you know. It's perfect for anyone who is just starting out in life, like recent college grads and anyone else who is new to investing. Hey, even experienced investors could probably benefit from this refresher course. One last thing before you click on the play button - please be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don't miss any upcoming videos. My content calendar is jammed packed and you don't want to miss anything.
