McKamey Animal Center Announces Free Adoption Event
(CHATTANOOGA,TN) October 12, 2020- McKamey Animal Center (MAC) will be holding an all-day free adoption event this Thursday, October 15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m
Potential adopters do not have to live in the City of Chattanooga. Free adoptions do not include puppies or Ambassadors.
"You do not need an appointment on Thursday," said Paula Hurn, Director of Operations. We will have social distancing guidelines in place and guests are required expected to wear a mask, wait in line 6-feet apart, and follow all the instructions given by staff and volunteers."

Those interested in adopting are encouraged to look at the current available animals on MAC’s website, and to select up to three to meet with, to help shorten wait times.

Outdoor waiting areas will be available to comply with maximum capacity guidelines.
"We're really hoping to get 100 animals out of the Center into good homes this Thursday," said Melissa Smith, Adoptions Administrator. "We assisted with two hurricanes already and hurricane season isn't over. We definitely need to find forever homes for as many as we can and we will be asking for donations to help take care of the needs of the animals still in our care."
In addition to the free adoption day, every Friday in October is Freaky Friday, with adoption specials of $13 fees for cats and $31 fees for dogs (excluding puppies and Ambassadors) by appointment only,. Also, you can enter your pet into MAC's Halloween Pet & Person Online Costume Contest, entries are $5, and support MAC animals.
