Is your job your Valentine? Do you love what you do?
I rekindled my love for Tripepi Smith in 2008, shortly after exiting a software-as-a-service company in the mortgage industry. Like many who were in transition during the Great Recession, I wandered through the desert to figure out what was next. A re-focused Tripepi Smith is what I found.
Professional associates often ask, "How did you end up mixing technology, marketing and local government?" The truth is that it was a natural blend of my interests and experience. I previously worked at a think tank for local government, executed government relations at a large defense contractor, automated a staffing service as an IT Manager and wore multiple hats at the software company in technology, marketing and government affairs. I found I enjoyed all of those things, so I sought a way to combine them.
Every day, Tripepi Smith teammates get a front row seat to some of the great opportunities available to civic-minded individuals and communities in California and beyond. We see non-profits at work, communities working together to overcome challenges, connected and engaged local government and civic leaders, and innovation that strives to improve residents' quality of life. For these reasons and many more, I love my job.
Everyone who gets this newsletter is in a position to move the needle on a challenge our society faces. Maybe the needle moves on the national scale, or maybe it moves within your local community. What matters is that we maintain focus on moving the needle in the right direction. Continuing to advance ideas and truths, even the hard ones, will improve those around us, help us love our jobs more and improve our future.
With Love,
