April was another strong month
After a quarter in which Scribe saw record-high transcription totals, volunteers turned in a very strong showing in April, with 94,298 records indexed, even without one if its most productive Scribers, who is on a temporary hiatus.

Thank you, Scribers!
Did you take an interest in genealogy during the pandemic? If so, The Seattle Times would like to talk to you.
Washington State Archives was recently contacted by a reporter with The Seattle Times who took an interest in genealogy while quarantined during the pandemic. She would like the opportunity to talk to Scribers, particularly genealogy novices who began their family research journey during the pandemic.

If you or someone you know is interested in speaking to The Seattle Times, please contact us at your earliest convenience.
There's a new name in the Top 10
Kim O. took the top spot again this month, but with Donna H. taking a break from transcribing, a spot opened up in the Top 10. Welcome to the leader board, Haley M.

Keep it up, Scribers!

Haven't used Scribe in a while?
Has it been a long time since you indexed records in Scribe? Did you index one record and forget about it? That's OK! This program was designed for volunteers to use whenever they get the chance. Operate on your own schedule, and do it from home (even when you're not quarantined).

Whether you index one record or thousands, your help and time are greatly appreciated.

Our mission is to make as many records as we can freely accessible to the public, and it wouldn't be possible without our volunteers. Every second of your time you put toward our mission is invaluable. So thank you for that one record three years ago, or the hundreds of records you did this week, and anything in between!
If you want to get back into Scribe, log in here. There are tools to recover your username and password if needed, or to create a new account. If you have any questions, please contact us. Happy Scribing!
