Force Main Replacement Along Pine Tree Drive

Project Advisory: Wednesday, October 16, 2024

Project Overview & Benefits

The City of Miami Beach is replacing aging sewer mains on the Pine Tree Drive bridge between 49 and 51 Streets with two subaqueous sewer lines. These pipes are deemed critical in the City's Sewer Master Plan and are in poor condition, having surpassed their useful life. This project will improve the overall efficiency and reliability of our system.

What's Happening

This project will span across the Flamingo Waterway, beginning at Pump Station #15 (at the intersection of Pine Tree Drive and La Gorce Drive) and extending to the south side of the bridge near 49 Street and Pine Tree Drive. Once construction is completed, road, landscaping, curb, and/or sidewalk repairs will be performed to restore the area to pre-existing conditions.

More details about the project, including road closures, access, and pedestrian detours, will be provided at a later date.

Timeline

Construction is expected to begin at the end of October 2024. The contractor is finalizing a project schedule, which includes work hours and a projected completion date. Please know that timelines may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
