Slow down.
Awaken your senses.
Relax into the beauty around us.
Inspired by the Japanese practice of
shinrin-yoku,
forest bathing, or forest therapy, has been scientifically proven to boost immune strength, reduce stress, and improve cognitive function. B
eyond these physiological changes, forest bathing offers us the opportunity to deepen our relationship with the natural world.
A forest bathing walk is not a hike or a workout; we move slowly and, for the most part, in silence. A series of guided activities, called invitations, are offered along the way to assist you in finding your own authentic way of interacting with the land. The experience ends with a tea ceremony, where you'll enjoy tea made from local plants, along with some healthy snacks.

Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather/temperature. Wear long pants that can be tucked into your socks, comfortable walking shoes, long sleeves, and a hat. Bring enough bottled water to stay hydrated for the duration. You also may want to bring sunblock and a small towel for sitting during portions of the walk.
The terrain at Stonebridge is flat, and total distance covered is less than a mile. Parking is available in the lot at the entrance to the preserve. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early; walk begins promptly at 10:00 am.
