Thursday, Jan 16th is the FC Connect event at Salveson Hall, 6:30-8:30pm. Waldorf Coach Josh Littrell will offer an encouraging and dynamic program about leading without a title. Designed for all ages. Light appetizers and refreshments will be served starting at 6:30, Speaker 7-8pm with local announcements following.

Don't miss another dynamic evening at Dancing for Rotary fundraiser scheduled for February 8th, 7pm at Boman Fine Arts Center. Tickets available from any Rotarian, MBT Bank, or TSB Bank.

Take a quick drive up to Albert Lea to watch the Waldorf Warrior Hockey team play. There are several games in January and February. Check the schedule out here .

If the weather cooperates, Forest City Parks and Recreation will have the ice skating rink at Pammel Park up and going....stay tuned to the Parks and Recreation Facebook page for official announcements on this.

What's happening at City Council? The public is encouraged to attend. Meetings are at 7pm on the first and third Monday of each month at City Hall. Find the minutes and meeting packets online. Have a question for the City? Contact City Hall at 641-585-3674 or go to the contact page.

Volunteer
Offer a helping hand, give back, donate, or volunteer!

Residents are encouraged to improve the quality of life for community members through volunteerism. 


Volunteers are frequently needed in the following areas: 

  • Forest City School – reading assistance through RSVP Program 
  • Forest City Events – committee member, organizer, ticket taker, direct traffic, set-up, usher etc. 
  • Lawn work – assist with mowing, raking and general yard work.
  • Park clean-up – Help pick up garbage, twigs etc in Forest City parks
  • Garden work – pull weeds and care for garden areas near signs and in parks. 
  • Boman Fine Arts – assistance with ushering and traffic control 
  • Heritage Park of North Iowa – volunteers during events to handle ticketing, direct traffic, manage various stations.
