FEBRUARY 2024

Keeping in the Loop

YOUR VOTE COUNTED - THANKS!

The FLCA Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who voted in this year's board election and attended the annual meeting. Congratulations to Jimmy Baranik, Dick Billings, Rich DiMeglio and Todd McGee for each being elected to a two-year term on the Board.

The 2024 Board looks forward to the opportunities and challenges of serving the residents of Forest Lakes with our Community Group site management. Key projects for 2024 will prove to be beneficial and necessary to our community. We encourage all residents to be active in the community. Contact a board member or the FLCA office with any suggestions or concerns. Your support, ideas and solutions are always welcome. The FLCA office will continue to keep residents informed, as duly possible, on issues that affect our community. The primary sources of communication are through our newsletter, our website and through our E-News. If you have received this newsletter, it means you are signed up! If you find a neighbor who is not, please encourage them to sign up on our website and be informed.

Thank you for your continued support.

2024 POOL PASSES - PLEASE READ FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION (It's a lot, we know...but stick with us!)

Pool entry will be digital beginning this coming pool season! No pool cards will be mailed out.  We have partnered with Membersplash, a pool management software company, for our pool entry administration. Residents will be given instructions and a link in the March newsletter to enter the required information on each resident in their household. Each resident will be required to download a current picture which will be used to identify household members at the check-in desk at the pools. We will also be piloting a Legacy Program which entail the following categories:

CATEGORY

SEASON COST

DESCRIPTION

Nanny Pass

$75.00

Individual at least 15 years old who will be taking care of resident children during the 2024 season. May use only when accompanying resident children.

LEGACY FAMILY

$200

Non-resident adult child, and their immediate family, of a Forest Lakes resident. Will have unlimited access to pool facilities for the current season only. Will not be permitted to bring guests.

LEGACY COUPLE

$150

Non-resident adult child, and spouse/partner, of a Forest Lakes resident. Will have unlimited access to pool facilities for the current season only. Will not be permitted to bring guests.

LEGACY SINGLE

$100

Non-resident adult child of a Forest Lakes resident. Will have unlimited access to pool facilities for the current season only. Will not be permitted to bring guests.

The FLCA is offering the LEGACY categories to adult children of Forest Lakes residents who are not living in Forest Lakes who wish to use our pools during the summer without having to be accompanied by the parent resident. As noted, a fee will be assessed, depending on the level of Legacy Membership. No other relative is accepted as a Legacy besides a child. Nanny passes will also be offered for those residents who have hired a sitter for the summer who will accompany resident children to the pool. This pass can only be used when the sitter is with the children. All Nanny pass and Legacy Membership individuals will need to register on the site as well, using the Forest Lakes address associated with their parent(Legacy) or charge children (Nanny pass).

All resident households will be credited 10 guest passes at the beginning of the season (just as in years past) to use for guests and visiting family members. Additional guest passes can be loaded on to your Membersplash account by you via credit card or purchased in the FLCA office. Punch passes from prior years can still be used at pool check in - don't worry!

Confused? We hope not! If you have questions, please call the FLCA office. Again, more information and a Membersplash sign-up link will be in the March Newsletter.

HOLIDAY DECORATIONS

A friendly reminder to you holiday stragglers who still have decorations up - all decorations must be down within 20 days of the holiday. Deadlines have passed! Please take all decorations down. Thanks!

IT'S TIME FOR A TGIF!

Mark your calendars for Friday, February 16th and join your Forest Lakes neighbors for an adult TGIF at the Pavilion from 6:00-8:00pm. Party food, beer, wine and soft drinks will be available. Music will be provided by our very own board president, Jimmy Baranik! Come visit with your neighbors or meet a new one! Hope to see you there.

FITNESS CENTER RENOVATIONS - Beginning Monday, February 5th

We will be adding a cool down/stretching area to our fitness facility. Construction is slated to begin Monday, February 5th. There should be little to no impact on your workout!

We also have several new pieces of equipment on order to include a new treadmill, inner outer thigh machine, recumbent bike and dual adjustable pulley. These will be delivered as soon as the construction project is complete.

LIFEGUARDS - TIME TO PUT YOUR APPLICATION IN!

Signature Pool Management will be managing our pools this year. This is a new management team and we're pretty excited about it! If your teen was a lifeguard last year and they are planning on guarding again (and we hope they are, what a great group we had!) please forward this email to them to apply. Have a teen new to guarding? Great! Click HERE for the QR Code with everything they'll need to apply.

Thanks for passing along!

Men's Workout Group

Looking to get fit in 2024? F3 is a national network of free men's workout groups and we have one right here in Forest Lakes! Every Monday and Thursday morning from 5:30-6:15. We are about 15-20 guys and meet in the parking lot of Hollymead Elementary for a HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout. It's a "you vs you" workout so every fitness level gets a great workout. The best part is the camaraderie (and the post-workout coffee). Contact jimharshawjr@gmail.com with questions or visit https://www.f3cville.com.
