2024 Pool Passes

As outlined in February's newsletter (missed it? click here) there is a new pool entry system being introduced for this summer's pool season called Membersplash. Beginning today, March 1, you will be able to register your family/household for Membersplash. The link and instructions are provided below. A few important notes:

  • Once you have registered your household members your account will be approved by the FLCA office. Once it is approved, you may not make changes without coming into the office.
  • Unless you are registering a nanny/babysitter or are a Legacy member, the "UNPAID ACCOUNT" does not apply to you.
  • Only your household members who live with you can be registered. Any fraudulent entries will not be approved and your account will remain inactive.
  • Every household member must have a current head-shot picture. This is how you will be identified at check-in. Make sure it looks like YOU!
  • Need help? You can call the FLCA office with questions or to make an appointment to have us help you set up your account. 434/973.4596.
  • For the definition of a Legacy and Nanny account, please see February's newsletter.

For complete instructions click HERE. We recommend printing them out.

LIFEGUARDS 2024

As mentioned in last month's newsletter, Signature Pool Management will be managing our pools this summer. They are currently hard at work getting our north pool back into shape (you may have heard the jackhammers!) and they are ready to hire lifeguards for the summer. We hope our lifeguards from last summer all return, and would love to see some new faces!!

APPLY HERE

Easter Egg Hunt - Saturday, March 30th

Bring your basket and come join the Easter Bunny for an Easter Egg Hunt at the north complex on Saturday, March 30th at 10:00am. There will be different areas for three age groups (Under 2, ages 2-4 and ages 5-9) and treats for all!

Pre-registration is required. Hop to it by calling the FLCA office at 434/973.4596 or email [email protected].

We’d also like to enlist some residents to help fill the Easter eggs – if you’d like to volunteer let us know. We’ll give you the eggs and candy and you can stuff either at home at your leisure or in the Pavilion. Your choice!

FITNESS CENTER RENOVATIONS - Complete!

Resident remarks have been very positive with the new "stretch room" added to our fitness center. Mirrors are coming in a week and we'll also be adding a barre in the near future. We'd like to keep this strictly a cool down/stretching area. Please refrain from bringing in equipment from other rooms. Also, please remember - no children in the gym under 12 years old under any circumstances. This new stretch room is not a place to drop off your kids while you work out! Equipment-wise, we added another dual pulley machine, an elliptical recumbent bike, a new treadmill and a new inner/outer thigh machine. Go check it out! Reminder: center is closed every Wednesday evening from 7-8:00pm for extra cleaning.

TENNIS and PICKLEBALL NEWS

TENNIS PRO

As many of you know, our tennis pro, Jim Labinski, had a massive stroke in November. We're sad to report that Jim will not be able to return to Forest Lakes. The Forest Lakes Community wishes Jim and his wife, Krista, the very best as Jim continues his recovery.

We are in the midst of hiring a new Director of Racquets for our community. Details will be forthcoming once everything is in place. In the meantime, if you’d like to be added to a tennis or pickleball email list to learn about programming and events (adult and junior players!) please let Grace know at [email protected]

COURT MAINTENANCE

Without a pro to keep our courts in order, we've had some resident volunteers who have been tremendous in cleaning off the north courts and laying and spreading the Claytech materials. This is no small feat! An enormous thank you to Eddie Leary and John Oliver who spearheaded the group of Forest Lakes volunteers to help with this task. The courts look great guys - Thanks!

ADOPT A BLUEBIRD HOUSE

Adopt a Forest Lakes bluebird house! We will have 20 houses on our bluebird trail this year. We are looking for more volunteers to check your adopted house WEEKLY during the spring and summer. All you need is a screwdriver, a camera phone and a commitment to doing a weekly update. It's fun!

If interested, kindly send an email asap to Carolyn Huyghe in Amberfield: [email protected].

HE SHED SHE SHED WHAT ABOUT YOUR SHED?

Remember, sheds need attention too! If you have a shed, please take some time to inspect it - it's a part of your property and should be in good condition. How are the shingles? Is there mold on the sides? Are there vines and weeds growing all around it? Does it need some sprucing up - or removal? Please take care of your shed! Remember, there are no plastic sheds allowed in Forest Lakes. See the Forest Lakes Rules and Regulations for shed specs.

SHRED AND BULK PICK-UP DATES

Forest Lakes Shred day will be Friday, April 19th from 10-2 in the north pool parking lot. Bulk Pick up day will be Saturday, April 20th. Details will be in April's Newsletter.
