Happy New Year! We welcome you to our first online newsletter. Please bear with us - it's a work in progress! We'll polish and tweak along the way.

Our goal is to provide the same pertinent information to all residents of

Forest Lakes that we've provided in our paper newsletters.

ANNUAL MEETING - 2024

The 2024 Annual Meeting date has been set for 6:00pm Wednesday, January

24th at the Forest Lakes Poolhouse. All Forest Lakes homeowners are invited to attend. Annual meeting packets should have arrived at all homeowner addresses in mid-December. Lost your packet? Click HERE for a new

one! In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be on January 31st, 6:00pm, in the Poolhouse.

THANK YOU to all of you who have voted so far! We still need votes to

achieve a quorum. Please help us reach this before the annual meeting by

dropping off your ballot at the FLCA Office or mailing it in.

HOLIDAY DECORATIONS

Congratulations to all of our winners and honorable mentions in the annual Holiday Decorating Contest. Competition was FIERCE (but fun!). But now it's time to put all those lights and Santas back into the garage......our Rules and Regs state that all holiday decorations must be down within 20 days after the holiday. So that puts us at January 14th! Thanks!

HOLLY HILL DEVELOPMENT - COMMUNITY MEETING

There is a new apartment and townhome community being proposed on approximately 31 acres along Rte 29 North near Hollymead South Drive. This project, called Holly Hill, is proposed by Dominion Realty Partners LLC and Stony Point Development Group. There is a community meeting being held on Thursday, January 11th at Northpointe. The information letter and meeting directions can be found HERE.

IT'S TIME FOR A TGIF!

Mark your calendars for Friday, February 16th. We'll have an adult TGIF in the Pavilion from 6:00-8:00pm. More details in February's newsletter.



CHRISTMAS TREE PICK UP

Christmas tree pickup will be Tuesday Jan 9th and Wednesday Jan 10th. You MUST have your tree out with your trash toter for Tuesday pickup. If your neighborhood trees do not get picked up on the Tuesday the 9th, they will be picked up on Wednesday the 10th. Do NOT wait to put your tree out on the 10th!

Please remove all lights, ornaments, etc. and have trees cut into 5-foot sections.

FITNESS CENTER RENOVATIONS - COMING SOON!

We will be adding a cool down/stretching area to our fitness facility, just off of the weight room. Construction is slated to begin towards the end of January. We'll have signage up in the gym when the dates get closer.

We also have several new pieces of equipment on order to include a new treadmill, inner outer thigh machine, recumbent bike and dual adjustable pulley. These will start to be delivered in the next few weeks.

SWIM TEAM SURVEY

If you are a member of the Forest Lakes Hurricanes or want to become a member, please click HERE to take a survey for the upcoming season. The FLST board of directors is wanting to get a feel from the swim community on what it wants from the swim team. Thanks!

IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO START TALKING ABOUT THE POOL!

Changes are coming with pool cards and pool entry this summer! It's even more important than ever for you to be UPDATED! If you have not filled out a Resident Information Sheet please do so now. If you have not filled one out within the past year, please do so now and return to the FLCA office asap. Renters, the office needs to have a current copy of your lease on file for pool entry as well. It is your responsibility to get it to the office, not your landlord's. Thank you!
