Keeping in the Loop

Summer is Almost Here!

Our fabulous pools are being readied for the season! North and South will both open Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 24th at 10:00am. Weekday hours will be altered until school is out on June 6th. For these hours, click HERE. If you haven't updated your Membersplash or created one yet do it now - see info below.

Signature Pool Management will again manage our pools this summer. We'll also have foreign guards this summer - three of them from last year will be back at Forest Lakes!

Summer socials are being planned. We'll have School's out Party on June 6th, 6-8:00pm and of course our Annual 4th of July party on Friday, July 4th. And back by a very popular demand, we're introducing "Fourth Fridays" at the South Pool. Adult social from 7-10pm. The first one will be on Friday, June 27th. Details in next month's newsletter.

Forest Lakes Hurricanes will begin practice on Monday, May 19th. Registration is open - see details further down in this newsletter. Home meets are June 18, July 2 and July 9th.

Internet access is available at both pools. Come out and relax, soak up the sun and surf the web poolside! The wifi password for each site is: forestlakes

We're all looking forward to spending more time outside in the warmer weather. With more residents enjoying the outdoors, please drive safely through our community, observe posted speed limits and watch for children, walkers, cyclists/scooters, runners and pets.

SOUTH COURTS - RENOVATIONS COMING SOON

All four south tennis/pickleball courts will be crack-repaired and resurfaced scheduled to begin mid-May. Our courts will be down for approximately 2 weeks once the work starts. Once we have an exact date, we'll send out an e-blast to let everyone know. We know you pickle-ballers are ready for new courts!!

RECYCLING TIPS

Help streamline the process by practicing good recycling etiquette!

  • Always, Always flatten your boxes!
  • Do not put recycling in plastic bags - plastic bags go in the trash
  • Give your cans, bottles, containers a quick rinse before putting them in the recycle toter
  • Organic matter does not go into the recycling
  • Remove bottle caps.
  • Paper with sticky surfaces, envelopes with clear windows, shredded paper (through a shredder) and bubble wrap are not recyclable.

YUP, It's Time To Mow That Yard!

and other fun stuff you need to do...

Let’s keep Forest Lakes looking sharp! All residents are kindly asked to keep their yards and home exteriors in tip-top shape—think mowed lawns, trimmed bushes, weed-free and mulched flowerbeds, clean siding, tidy mailboxes, and yes, toys tucked in for the night (they need their rest too). A little effort goes a long way in making the neighborhood shine—thanks for helping Forest Lakes stay fabulous!

DUATHLON REMINDER!

The kids duathlon will be held this Sunday, May 4th. There will be bikers along Powell Creek Drive from the intersection of Powell Creek Drive and Ashwood Blvd down to the traffic circle at Shadybrook Trail. Traffic may be held up while bikers are in the road. Please plan accordingly. Runners will be on the path from the South Facility along Ashwood Blvd up to Kendalwood Lane - please drive slowly. Event starts around 8:30 and should end by 10am. Thanks!
