Celebrate the completion of the major renovations at Forest Park!

The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places program and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs are excited to reopen Forest Park after undergoing a major renovation. Join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by activities for neighbors of all ages.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. followed by activities throughout the park. Come play on one of the 4 soccer fields or test your skills on the new volleyball, basketball and pickleball courts. Allow your dog some active play in the new dog park areas, or simply rest under a pavilion and enjoy the greenspace.

Construction costs totaled $3.6 million, funded by the Wild Spaces & Public Places surtax and a $200,000 Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program grant.

For more information on the event, contact Recreation Manager Dwright Jackson at 352-393-8443 or Jacksondj@gainesvillefl.gov.
