August/September Newsletter

Do you feel the crispness in the air slowly creeping in too, or is it just me?? As we enter this last "official" weekend of Summer -- Labor Day Weekend -- we want to celebrate the work you all have done thus far this year and share our deepest gratitude and appreciation for keeping our clients' needs at the center of everything you do.

Because of you, Forge Health has been recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America for the 3rd consecutive year!!! We are proud to share that we've earned the 1,722 rank 🎉 This recognition is a testament to our entire team's drive to provide lasting, positive change in the field of mental health and substance use care, making treatment affordable, effective, and accessible, and we share this achievement together!

Before we continue with this month's newsletter, we want to take time to acknowledge September 11th, 2001 and honor and commemorate the sacrifices made that day by remembering the heroes, armed forces, first responders, and countless others’ acts of service to defend our nation’s freedom. Thank you to the first responders, military personnel, and Veterans who emulate what a true hero is, many of whom put their lives on the line to save thousands of others that day and the many that followed. Thank you to the families, friends, and loved ones who provided support and love to our service members, first responders, and each other and continue to do so today. This heroism, support, love, and unwavering pride brought our country together and gave us strength that can never be broken, and that is what we remember and why we will never forget.

Welcome to STEPtember!

On your marks, get set... STEP! We're officially underway with STEPtember and I hope you're all excited and ready to get those steps in. As mentioned in the team email earlier this week, Rob D'Annibale, Corporate Strategy Associate, has a personal connection and passion linked to this cause. Take a moment and read his "why" for participating in this event each year:

"I have had the privilege of collaborating with STEPtember over the last few years as those close to me have been impacted by cerebral palsy and I can affirm the organization's unwavering commitment to aiding these individuals. As dedicated healthcare professionals, the inclination to assist others is an inherent aspect of our vocation. Through our alliance with this exceptional organization, we unite as a cohesive team, translating our strides into tangible contributions, and providing sustenance to those requiring assistance. Additionally, there are countless benefits for our organization – from team building, better physical and mental health, promoting inclusion, and making an impact for people with cerebral palsy."

Don't forget to register for STEPtember if you haven't done so already! There is a button below to register as well as instructions for you to follow just in case. Feel free to download the app to link your devices, track your steps, and keep an eye on the leaderboard 😉

Our updated design reflects our commitment to providing vital resources and high-quality care for mental health and substance use treatment in an open, welcoming environment. Our new website provides a comprehensive and user-friendly interface that will help us reach our clients in a more meaningful way.

Follow us on Instagram @ForgeHealth!

We are pleased to announce that we will be merging our two Instagram accounts - Forge Health and Forge VFR - to create one Forge Health company page. Our intention in doing so is to solidify our Forge Health brand under one name/appearance and reach as many people as possible with our content.

We have posted an announcement on the current Forge VFR Instagram page letting followers know of the switch and encouraging them to follow @ForgeHealth to continue receiving our latest news and updates. The Forge VFR account will be deactivated next month.

We kindly ask that all Forge Health employees no longer use the @Forgevfr_nh_ma handle and instead use @ForgeHealth in all posts, stories, and tags for the company moving forward.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the marketing team.

Thank you for your commitment and partnership in continuing to fuel the Forge Health brand and making quality behavioral health care more accessible!

In the Community

Queens Unlocked🔑

Our team in Queens experienced a real "turnkey" challenge with one of their doors and the entire team, under the lead of Venice Payne and Aliza Tammam, jumped in to problem-solve together - even Dr. Guy Maytal joined in! Rachel Heyman, Executive Clinical Director, said, "It was and is such a testament to the value of entering challenging situations with humor and a willingness to jump in and work together to forge ahead! So appreciative of these special people, and the actual locksmith who arrived shortly after this photo was taken!"

On the Air 🎤

Our very own Dalton McLaughlin was a guest on The WFEA 1370AM Morning Update show this month with Drew Cline. Drew is the host of The WFEA Morning Update and is president of the Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy, New Hampshire’s free-market think tank.

The show focuses on issues affecting Granite State residents. For this piece, Drew and Dalton discussed how important it is for those providing care for our Veterans and First Responders to truly 'GET' them. Awesome job, Dalton!

New England on the Move!

Julie Nason and Sean Kilbreth attended an open house at Clearbrook in Baldwinville MA, in order to meet with the staff and other first responders and clinicians. Clearbrook offers an inpatient veteran and first responder program. We pride ourselves on responsibly referring our uniformed services community to quality partners in the community - great work, Julie and Sean!

Suffolk County Sherriff Wellness 🚓

Members of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Wellness Program visited Kenneth Peters Center for Recovery and Forge Health to learn about the mental health and substance use disorder treatment we provide law enforcement officers. Thank you to the wellness team for all you do!

What's new in Long Island?

a solid foundation in the work we do. We are thrilled to have her join the Forge and KPC team!

Congrats, Dad!

Our very own, and very exhausted, Ryan Castellano, IOP Counselor in Hauppauge, is coming back after his parental leave. Mia loves her new baby brother, Jackson. The Castellano family came into the KPC staff meeting so the kids could meet everyone and they ogled over the babies. Congratulations again, Ryan!

Cassidhe said, yes 💍

Cassidhe LoFaso, the front desk anchor in Syosset got engaged and she is busy planning her wedding. Best wishes to Cass and Brandon for a lifetime of love and laughter. Congratulations, Cassidhe! 😊

Welcome back, Sue!

Sue Tuffini came back to work on August 14th following a time of leave. Boy did we miss you, Sue - so did the patients and the managed care reviewers!!

VFR Cultural Competency Forum Rewind

Thank you all for attending the VFR Cultural Competency Forum on August 22nd and learning about, "What it means to be a Veteran", from some of our team members. A special thanks goes to Meagan Quinn for sharing her personal experience and how she applies it to the care she provides to her clients.

We invite you all to take our post-forum survey to provide feedback on the forum. You can get to that survey by clicking on the button below:

Pop Culture Corner

Welcome to the Pop Culture Corner! We talked with new hires Khine, Ebony, and Michele to see what's on their current watchlist. Let's see what they said!

Khine Han

Associate HR Business Partner

I am currently re-watching Parks & Rec! I enjoy the subtle humor and the crazy situations that Leslie and the team get themselves into. My favorite episode is probably the Lil Sebastian memorial episode - nothing compares to that ballad!

Ebony White

Clinician, West Deptford

I'm currently watching Special Ops: Lioness on Paramount. What attracted me was the cast, I love Nicole Kidman and how diverse Zoe Saldana can be when it comes to the roles she plays. The series has a strong lead of women and action which has kept me glued!! I typically don't watch a lot of TV but this series is worth my leisure time!! I'm more of a music person. I have a playlist on Apple Music called "smooth and easy" which consists of R&B with a mesh of acoustic sounds and some ballads. This playlist has a tempo that always matches up with my mood. I literally go to sleep and wake up to this playlist!!

Michele Armstrong

Oncology Licensed Mental Health Therapist, NY Virtual/Oncology

This has been a very busy summer for me which included not only accepting a new position with Forge Health but also a big move. Being able to find something outrageously funny is one of the best ways for me to let go of stress and put things in perspective. Jury Duty comes from the creators of the Office. The premise of Jury Duty is that everyone is an actor in this documentary style show, except one person. The show takes us through a cast of hysterical, and at times completely off the wall characters who have been selected to sit on a jury together. Get ready to laugh until you cry, guess who is not an actor, and have your faith in the goodness of people restored.

Closing Remarks

We can't wait to see everyone at the Town Hall on Wednesday at 1:00 PM!! We wish you all a safe and happy extended weekend.

Have a superb September,

Christina 💜
