March Newsletter
Happy Spring, everyone! March 20th marked the first day of a new season. And with a new season, comes renewed energy. We've had an incredible start to the new year with so much to be proud of and I can't wait to continue forging ahead alongside this incredible team!

I wanted to quickly congratulate Team Pennsylvania for winning bragging rights on the best March Madness Playlist. I've listened to Eye of the Tiger more times that I can count throughout the last month so thank you all for the extra inspiration.

March and April are both two important months for our organization as March commemorated National Social Worker Month and April is National Counseling Awareness Month. Our clinical care and clinical staff are everything. It's the heartbeat of who we are and the driving force for everything we do. We thank you for all that you do today and everyday. Be on the lookout for a fun treat or two throughout the month to celebrate!

Employee Highlight

Jessica Dickerson
Jess Dickerson joined Forge in 2018 and has been an integral part of our organization since day 1. Shortly after celebrating her 4 year anniversary this February, Jess started a new role within the organization as our Intake and Experience Manager! Jess will be overseeing our ACE team to ensure every client is taken care of from the moment they contact Forge. She brings an incredible, critical, and unique eye to this role after being ingrained in the clinical operations of the organization for 4 years.
Congratulations and go get 'em, Jess! We can't wait to watch you shine.
Client Testimonial
Our Manchester team received an extremely touching thank you note from a client's father that they were generous enough to share with us. It's a wonderful reminder of the incredible work you all do every single day. The client's name has, of course, been redacted and referred to as 'client' below:
"I wanted to take this opportunity to Thank You and the staff at Forge Health for helping my son that struggles with PTSD.

When I originally contacted the NH Dept. of EMS I was at a loss as to how to help 'client' navigate through his feelings. They put me in touch with your organization for which I am truly thankful.

We (our family) have seen a huge change in 'client's' demeanor and attitude toward life. He was in a very dark place prior to meeting you.

'Client' has enjoyed the interaction with your group and has expressed interest in helping others experiencing the same symptoms that he endured for 5 years prior to working with you.

I (we) am forever grateful for what you have succeeded in doing and I know 'client' feels the same way."
Charity Hockey Game!

Dalton McLaughlin represented Forge VFR at a charity game between police officers and firefighters for the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. Check out pictures below of the big game!
Equine Therapy

In partnership with UpReach in Gofftown, NH, Manchester VFR has integrated a monthly 3 hour equine therapy program into their treatment. This program is available to all IOP and OP clients, meeting the 3rd Friday of every month. This is an unmounted therapeutic program focused on growing insight and connection. See below for some pictures of the beautiful horses involved in the program:
Paramus Fundraiser

Michele Spagnuolo coordinated a donation drive that provided various medical supplies to Ukraine. Donations from the Forge Health Paramus team were dropped off to the Elmwood Park Police Department who coordinated this drive with the Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Church in Clifton, NJ. Below is a photo that was received from the Elmwood Park Police Department as a thank you - incredible work!
Tech Tip!
Welcome back to your newest recurring section – Monthly Tech Tips! This month, don’t let cybercriminals make an April Fool out of you. Below are some best practices to keep yourself safe.

1. Know how to spot phishing attempts | Emails requiring immediate action or asking for personal information should be considered potentially suspicious. Make sure the email address is really from the person someone is claiming to be. Double-check strange requests with your manager. Report suspicious emails to [email protected].

2. Use Multi-Factor Authentication | Whenever possible, use multi-factor authentication methods (authenticator app, text messages, secondary email, etc.) to add an extra layer of security and verify your identity.

3. Keep apps, software, and your computer up to date | Cyber security is a cat and mouse game, and new vulnerabilities constantly reveal themselves. Updating regularly ensures your software is patched with the most up-to-date security.

4. Create strong passwords, and don’t reuse them | Make a lengthy password using a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Use different passwords for different sites and consider using a password manager to store your varied passwords. Also, never share your password with anyone.

You can always reach out to the Forge Support Team by using this form (preferred method) or by emailing [email protected]. Let us know your favorite shortcuts or what tech tips you may want in the future!

We're back with our Pop Culture Corner! This month, our Veteran and First Responder Engagement Team is going to take the lead:
Jason Palamara

"Brain Food" by Dr. Lisa Mosconi
"Brain Food" is a fascinating read about how to eat for maximum brain power and health from an expert in both neuroscience and nutrition.

"Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance" by Angela Duckworth
Winningly personal, insightful and powerful, Grit is a book about what goes through your head when you fall down, and how that - not talent or luck - makes all the difference.

The Last Kingdom
Netflix
by Bernard Cornwell

The Last Kingdom is a Netflix Series detailing how Alfred the Great defends his kingdom from Norse invaders, while Uhtred--born a Saxon but raised by Vikings--seeks to claim his ancestral birthright. The series is also an awesome book series by Bernard Cornwell.

That's all for now! Hope everyone has a wonderful and vigilant April Fools Friday.
Until next month,
Rachel
