BULLETIN COVID-19's IMPACT
AIA Pennsylvania Forging Ahead to Ensure Economic Resilience for the AEC Industry in PA In these times of uncertainty and instability, AIA Pennsylvania is here to fortify the design and construction industry - a foundation of Pennsylvania's economy.
In conjunction with representation from two organizations representing engineers in Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA & NSPE-PA), AIA Pennsylvania has authored and sent a letter to Governor Wolf to call on his administration to reclassify architecture, engineering, and construction as life-sustaining businesses to keep Pennsylvania designing and building in this time of crisis.
Additionally, AIA Pennsylvania, along with 19 other organizations representing construction, consulting, and design, has signed on to a letter to Governor Wolf to request that his administration and the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) re-evaluate the blanket classification of residential and commercial construction as a non-life-sustaining business.
AIA Pennsylvania holds that the work of those that design, build, and maintain the built environment is vital and can be done safely in accordance with CDC and PA Department of Health guidelines to encourage social distancing and flatten the curve.
