Renewed Hope for The Future |
Tan Trung Commune, Go Cong Town, Tien Giang Province
57-year-old Bon lived in a degraded house for many years alongside his wife, Lien, and their two children, 26-year-old Quang and 4-year-old Tam, Go Cong Town, Tien Giang Province, Vietnam.
Earning a small monthly income of VND 6 million (about US$ 250), the family struggled to meet their daily needs and improve living conditions. Their house was made of leaves, mixed wood boards and degraded iron frame. The roof had frequent leaks, and was made of fibro cement sheet containing asbestos, which is unsafe and harmful for health. During heavy rains or storms the house got flooded and the family was constantly afraid that their home would collapse during the cyclone season. Despite the challenging living conditions and difficulties, Bon and Lien tried very hard to send their children to school.
Their hopes for a better future were clearly reflected in their wide smiles when...

Alvina St Lot #1 – We are working on the “punch list” touch-ups and final cleaning is underway on 1402 E Alvina St., which will be turned over the new homeowners on Saturday, March 4th. This marks the completion of the “Alvina Street project,” seven homes that were begun in the Fall of 2021.
Wehe Ave Lot #4 - This week we have been installing drywall in this home, a welcome respite from the cold weather. The drywall finishers will begin their work next week, then we will move on to installing flooring, cabinets, interior doors, and trim. We plan to dedicate this home near the end of April.
|
Wehe Ave Lot #5 – Tri-Tech framed this home in record time and is ready to receive trusses. They will set the trusses and start the roof by the first week of March, installing windows and siding as they go. This home is slated for completion early this summer.
Wehe Ave Lots #6-7 - Footings and stem walls are complete on these two homes, awaiting installation of the underground plumbing. We hope to pour the slabs as the weather warms in the next two weeks. Tri-Tech will be creating small teams to start framing these homes as soon as the slabs are ready.
|
Wehe Ave Lot #8-10 - The last three lots on Wehe are currently a great staging area for Tri-Tech to frame walls and spread out their tools, but we will keep pouring foundations at a steady pace to stay ahead of their framing crew. Both 907 and 911 Wehe are slated to be complete before the end of the year.
