We appreciate your continued support of career and technical education in Forsyth County. As we officially transition into Summer and planning for next year, we wanted to thank our community partners for their ongoing involvement. Our teachers did a phenomenal job of creating relevant CTAE experiences for their students last year, including many CTSO events returning to in-person all across the country finishing up this week. We appreciate your participation in many of our events, including advisory councils, our career fair, guest speaking, and many other ways you all stepped up to support our students! We are also very proud of our first CTAE Excellence Awards program that honored over 100 CTAE students from across the district. YOUR support make these things happen! To watch a recap video, click on this link: FY22 CTAE Excellence Awards
Many of you also assisted this year through updated strategic efforts around Workforce Forsyth. Due to updates to Perkins V (federal legislation that helps fund career and technical education), our community went through a detailed planning process for career and technical education. Out of that plan and after evaluating all of the data and feedback collected, the district will focus on several main priorities. We will detail the full plan and action steps at our Fall Stakeholder Summit being planned and will begin this work with teachers in July!

Launch is a career readiness training opportunity for recent high school graduates seeking to enter the workforce in Forsyth County. In June, participants engaged in skills-based sessions on financial literacy, corporate communication, building resiliency, time and project management, and life skills. They also completed StrengthsFinder and heard from local professionals about various facets of industry in Forsyth County. Participants were also able to access critical resources around resume development and interviewing which assisted them on the final day at a Career Fair, where more than thirty local businesses showcased their entry-level positions. Congratulations, graduates!

Congratulations! Forsyth County is proud to announce that several career pathways were recently recognized for becoming industry certified. When a program becomes industry certified, it receives a "stamp of excellence," which represents the apex of program quality. Only those programs that have successfully undergone rigorous reviews by leaders from business and industry are recognized with this distinction. For the 2022-23 school year, ten programs have applied through the Georgia Department of Education to also go through this process!
