Help Elevate Students to the Next Level!

Support the Fort Bend Education Foundation’s Annual Giving Campaign and help elevate our students to the next level! Each dollar donated helps the Education Foundation stay true to its purpose in providing opportunities to enrich and enhance the quality of education for all Fort Bend ISD students through its grant programs. The more dollars raised, the more grant funding is provided to support innovative classroom material and learning opportunities for the district’s more than 80,000 students.

Thanks to All for Supporting our Fall Events!

We are just a few months into the school year and already have had three successful community events – the annual Back to School Scramble, Community Awareness Reception and Sugar Shindig – thanks to all of our awesome supporters!

Our “Par tee” themed Back to School Scramble was held at the Sweetwater Country Club and welcomed 256 golfers! Co-chaired by Greene Hendon and Ryan McCauley, the scramble netted over $148,000 to benefit our Grants to Teachers and Schools program.

We also welcomed a good crowd of campus news coordinators, PTO/PTA members and other supporters to our Community Awareness Reception. Held at the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, the event gave participants an opportunity to learn more about the Education Foundation and volunteer opportunities.

During our sweetest event of the year, Sugar Shindig, we welcomed hundreds of partygoers to Safari Texas for a fun evening of fundraising through cake auctions. The event netted more than $57,000 to support our FBISD teachers and students.

A special “thank you” to our event hosts, sponsors and volunteers, who helped make each event memorable for all! Stay tuned. More events to come!

Grants In Action

Spotlighting Dulles, Oakland and Walker Station Elementary Schools

When in Doubt, Work it Out-Stations

Dulles Elementary’s Special Education math resource classes are strengthening math skills thanks to a $1,403 teacher grant that funded “When in Doubt, Work it Out-Stations.” Classes visit the stations to access math games, practice cards and other manipulatives to reinforce what is taught in the classroom and build social language skills.

An Art Experience and Science Experiment

Thanks to a $1,407 teacher grant, Oakland Elementary students are enjoying “An Art Experience and Science Experiment,” while learning about gravity, kinetic energy and potential energy in class. The grant funded purchase of a spin art set, tempera and foam paint, sensory spheres, texture brushes and more to outfit the spin art center.

Outdoor Play for PreK

With funding for their “Outdoor Play for PreK” teacher grant, Walker Station Elementary teachers are promoting motor skills, cognitive and social and emotional development in students. With the $1,349 grant, teachers bought trikes, an indoor/outdoor equipment cart, soccer and kick balls, and mini basketballs for students to enjoy during recess.
