FBEF joins Business Partners in helping Aldridge ElementaryStart Proud!
You never know what the new school year will bring. Just ask teachers at Allen Aldridge Elementary! Thanks to Fort Bend Education Foundation business partners Office Depot-Store 416 in Sugar Land and Boise Paper, Aldridge teachers received a special back-to-school surprise as part of the Start Proud! Program! Each teacher enjoyed a shopping spree for classroom supplies, giveaways and a to-go lunch! Office Depot donated $10,000 to support the cause and Boise Paper matched that amount, making the total in-store credit awarded to Aldridge Elementary $20,000! The school is among only 10 Title I schools across the country to benefit from the program this year.
Special thanks to Office Depot managers and leaders: Imari Jackson, Ivan Piedras, Michael Krolls, Paige Hand, and Carlos Lopezleon; Kevin Koertje of Boise Paper; FBEF Board Members and Executive Director Hillary Dunn; FBISD Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith and his Executive Leadership Team; and Aldridge Elementary Principal Tara Garret and Assistant Principal Errynne Amey for helping make the day memorable for the Aldridge “Defenders” teaching staff!
