Community Safety Reminder

Dear Fort Wright Community Members,

Over the past couple of days, the Fort Wright Police Department has seen an increase in vehicle break-ins throughout the city, as a result of unlocked vehicles.

As the weather gets warmer, crimes of opportunity like these tend to increase. Our Officers have increased patrols in affected areas, but we are asking for the community’s help in preventing these incidents.

Please remember:

• Keep your vehicles locked at all times

• Remove valuables from plain view

• Never leave keys or spare keys inside your vehicle

An easy habit to adopt is the nationwide #9PMRoutine crime prevention campaign:

✅ Remove Valuables – Take purses, electronics, firearms, & spare keys out of your vehicle

✅ Lock Up – Double-check vehicle doors, home doors, windows, & garage doors are locked

✅ Illuminate – Turn on porch lights, activate security cameras, & set alarm systems

Taking a few moments each evening can help protect your property and your neighborhood.

If you notice suspicious activity, please contact the Fort Wright Police Department immediately by calling 911.

Stay safe, Fort Wright.
