To be a father means that no matter how young or old you are, you are always there for your kids.
My Dad taught me how to fish, shoot an arrow, ride a bike, clean an engine, and in the meantime know that no matter what life would bring, I would always survive. He taught me the names of the constellations at night and the songs of the birds in the morning. He taught me to dream, risk failure and succeed in whatever I wanted to be in life.
Thank you, Dad, for giving me roots and wings.
Maria

Engineering and Public Works Department Construction Update:
since June 5, 2023
|
|
-
The contractor is currently working to install a 400 linear feet portion of 12-inch watermain between 153rd Road South and 152nd Place North. There is a total of 1,500 linear feet of watermain remaining to be installed. The watermain installation could not proceed until the traffic switch which occurred on May 8, 2023.
-
Remaining road work is on hold until the utility work has been completed.
- A crew is compacting rock to allow for the first asphalt lift on the north side of the bridge over the L-38 Canal.
- Another crew is working on guardrail removal to allow for new guardrail installation per plan.
- Contractor is stockpiling materials at the south end of the project to construct the connection to the existing roadway, south of the bridge over the L-38 Canal.
- As previously mentioned, in our community meetings, due to the delay in the delivery of specialized signal items, the demolition and construction of the intersection of Lyons Road and Atlantic Avenue will, in turn, be delayed. Palm Beach County staff is working with the contractor to provide temporary signals at the intersection. Once installed, the temporary signals will allow the contractor to begin the demolition of existing equipment at the intersection months sooner without waiting for the delayed permanent signal items to arrive. We anticipate temporary signal installation to start in July 2023.
- Streetlights are still scheduled to be installed by FPL on Lyons Road between Clint Moore Road and Atlantic Avenue starting in summer of 2024.

Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Deriving it's name from combining "June" and "nineteenth," it is celebrated on the anniversary of the order, issued by Major General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for slaves in Texas. The day was first recognized as a federal holiday when President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law after the efforts of Lula Briggs, Galloway, Opal Lee and others who advocated for the remembrance.

I am a 3-year-old brindle-colored dog who is the volunteer favorite by the shelter.
I love to play outdoors and run around meaning I am an active dog. I play well with other dogs and meet new people. My favorite toys are bouncy balls. I am very sweet and feel that I will do well in a home with other pets!
If you are looking for a new best friend, then consider picking me.
