The Newest Member of Our Team

I am from the Bronx! Married for 63 years to my beautiful Harriet, we had four kids together! After working as an optometrist for 45 years we retired from Framingham Mass., to have fun in the sun. I have been here in Delray for 22 years. I provide constituent and notary services for District 5 in Vice Mayor Maria Sachs' office.

My other family forgot about me and left me abandoned in their old apartment. I am very lonely and not used to all the barking in the shelter. If you are looking for companionship I am ready to be adopted. I am a senior dog but still full of energy, good with kids and other dogs. If you are interested in adopting me , visit Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control Division's SNAP website here.
Stay tuned for the next issue, as I will feature another animal from ACC in need of a forever home.

Commissioner Sachs, Chair of Solid Waste Authority Committee

Before you buy that new laptop for the New Year have you thought about how do you dispose of your old laptop? The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County has several locations where you can recycle your old electronics.
Accepted items include:
- Audio/visual equipment: VCRs, stereos, etc.
- Cell phones
- Computer CPUs and laptops
- Computer monitors
- Computer accessories: keyboards, mouse devices, printers, scanners, etc.
- Rechargeable batteries
- Televisions
- Telecommunications equipment: phones, fax machines, etc.
- Holiday lights
Last year, Palm Beach County residents recycled more than 912,000 pounds of electronics. Not a bad encore for old or outdated items with a cord that could have wound up in a landfill. And, for the past few years, the SWA’s Home Chemical and Recycling Centers have either recycled or safely disposed of about 4.9M pounds of household hazardous wastes.
The SWA’s locations in the south of the county are:
- Royal Palm Beach

- Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
