Dear Members,
Our ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 8:00 pm online via Zoom. There will be several votes on the agenda, including timely and interesting reports, and our annual vote for next year's Vice President (who will automatically become President the following year), Treasurer, Secretary, Nominating Committee, and three Directors-at-Large.
All members of the public are welcome, but Forum members will need to be current with their dues to vote. Register to attend online via Zoom and RSVP here. Proxy instructions follow below.
Thanks to all new members and those who have served and supported the Forum during these extraordinary times. We hope to see many of you on May 20th as we transition to new and returning members of our leadership, including our next Forum President, Eli Mattioli.
It has been my great privilege to serve as Forum President this past year. I'm grateful also for the opportunity to continue working with you on our shared mission to provide a platform for meaningful community dialogue about issues relevant to Scarsdale residents.
With sincere wishes for your good health and happiness,
Madelaine Eppenstein

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Registration Required here
Here's what you need to do to be ready for our meeting on May 20:
1. Download, fill out, and send in a proxy voting form. The Forum by-laws permit membership voting to be done by proxy, not just for determining a quorum. We highly encourage you to fill in the PROXY form and email it to secretary@scarsdaleforum.com whether or not you intend to participate in the meeting by Zoom or conference call. You can always modify or supplement your proxy submissions, including orally during the meeting.
2. If you wish to participate by Zoom, RSVP online to receive the password. As always, the meeting is free and open to the public, but we're taking this extra step of security as a precaution against disruption.
Finally, please remember to check that you are current with your dues so that you are eligible to vote and fully participate in the meeting.

Downtown Revitalization
The Downtown Revitalization Committee discussed parking issues and potential solutions at its April meeting and plans to follow up with the Village on restoration plans for the Boniface Circle pocket park, which will include new seating and landscaping. Please contact Chair Susan Douglass, susanudouglass@gmail.com.

Education
The Education Committee continues to work on development of a joint information session to explore the School District's current curriculum offerings and professional learning opportunities related to major topics that have emerged over the last several years. The Committee encourages residents to vote in the School Board and School Budget election on May 18, 2021. Please Contact Chair Barry Meiselman, barwest2@aol.com.

Fiscal Affairs
The committee is in follow up mode, anticipating budget discussions will likely be ongoing given fiscal uncertainties and questions about how to account for and use the federal money expected. The Mayor’s weekly work sessions in April have included discussion of strategic and financial planning. While the Village Board kept the full leaf collection appropriation in the adopted budget, they indicated the subject will be discussed in time for fall. The Committee appreciated that the Village Board included the financial update and schedules prepared for the trustees in their meeting agenda, as requested by the committee in its recent Report and at a work session. The Report will be presented for a vote by Forum members at their May 20, 2021 Membership Meeting. Please contact Chair Anne Hintermeister, ahintermeister@gmail.com.

Municipal Services
The Committee is looking forward to Village Board Working Sessions that will engage the community on the critically important recommendations made in the recent joint Forum committee Report (link below) on "Gas Leaf Blowers, Leaf Vacuuming, and Leaf Mulching," and in the most recent Municipal Services Report on traffic safety and implementation of complete streets policy and design, and safe routes to schools. Please contact Chair Madelaine Eppenstein, meppenstein@eppenstein.com.

Sustainability, Municipal Services, Climate Resilience
The Scarsdale Forum Board approved the joint Report of the Sustainability, Municipal Services, and Climate Resilience Committees on the use of gas leaf blowers by landscapers working in the Village and leaf collection policy. The Report will be presented for a vote by Forum members at their May 20, 2021 Membership Meeting. Contact Climate Resilience Chair Tim Foley, timothy.d.foley@gmail.com, or Municipal Services Chair Madelaine Eppenstein, meppenstein@eppenstein.com, or Sustainability Chair Darlene LeFrancois Haber, dlefranc@montefiore.com.
