WCHR is thrilled to announce the latest progress in our landmark hotel conversion project at 50 Oriol Drive - we officially acquired the property in August!

We are converting an underutilized hotel into 90 units of income restricted permanent supportive housing. The closing represents a significant step forward for our community's well-being and our commitment to Worcester remains unwavering. Official ownership allows us to proceed with securing the permanent funding sources and moving towards the construction phase in 2024.

Affordable housing projects of this scale require many sources of funding and collaboration with other partners. We are grateful to the funders of this acquisition, the Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance and its Home & Healthy for Good program, the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation, the Massachusetts Alliance for Supportive Housing and the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities who have helped make this project a reality.
