A Note From Principal Hadley
School is off to a roaring start, and we are excited to work with you and your student to make this a positive and rewarding school year. Listed below are some recent accolades I shared with students this week in an assembly:

  • We are a U.S. News and World Report Top High School.
  • Fossil Ridge High School earned 4 distinctions from the State of Texas for superior academic performance (more than any other school in Keller ISD).
  • Fossil Ridge High School ranks FIRST in Comparative Academic Growth when compared to 40 other Texas schools with similar demographics.
  • Fossil Ridge High School ranks THIRD in Closing the Achievement Gaps when compared to 40 other Texas schools with similar demographics.
  • For the third year in a row, Fossil Ridge has the highest Algebra I STAAR scores in Keller ISD (higher than Keller, Central and Timber Creek high schools).
  • Our students who are language challenged (new to this country) have higher Algebra I scores than the regular students at the other 3 high schools.

We are very proud of our students and their accomplishments. Thank you for entrusting them to us. We will push them to excel because we believe in them and want them to shine academically. Please feel free to contact us when you have a question or concern.

Kind regards,

Dave Hadley
Picture day for our freshman, sophomores and juniors will be on August 28th & 29th. Students will have their pictures taken during their English class. Orders can be placed online at www.mylifetouch.com using the Picture Day ID# TX159018Q0 or come by the front office and pick up an order form.
KISD policy states that every student must wear their ID badge during the school day. Students were gifted their first ID on the first day of school with a lanyard. By Monday, August 26th all students will have been given an ID badge and should be wearing it.

Students who forget to bring their ID badge to school will be allowed 3 temporary sticker IDs. On the 4th infraction, the student will be charged $5 to purchase another ID badge, and receive a discipline referral with parent contact.
We now have a link on our website for the daily announcements, the ones read by Mr. Hadley during 2nd period. The page will update every day by 10 AM.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, Fossil Ridge High School will administer the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT). All sophomore and junior students will test at no cost to them and are automatically registered. Parents or guardians of freshmen may choose to have their child participate in the the PSAT for a fee of $16 beginning on August 26, 2019.

To register your (freshman) student for the PSAT, you may pay online at the FRHS web store by credit card, or in the main office with cash or check.

Keller ISD is now accepting applications for AP exam scholarships through September 11.

In 2019, the Keller ISD Education Foundation donated $100,000 to help fund Advanced Placement exam scholarships, creating opportunities for even more students to earn college credit before graduating from high school. This was the first time KISD has been able to offer students striving to gain college credit financial assistance to meet their post-secondary goals.

The results of these advanced placement exams reflect the enormous impact the Education Foundation’s donation made in the lives of KISD students. More than half of the students who received these scholarships scored a three or higher on one or more of their exams, and in total, 445 students and their families could save as much as $1.6 million overall in college tuition as a result of the Education Foundation’s donation.

Students committed to taking an AP exam during the 2019-20 school year may apply for a scholarship online through September 11.  Click here to apply .
Keller ISD AVID encourages the District to participate in the College Colors Day on Wednesday, August 28.

College Colors Day is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting college-readiness as well as the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience by encouraging fans to wear their favorite college colors/gear.

Keller ISD is excited to participate in this fun, district-wide event and is encouraging all students, faculty, staff members, and administrators to dress in their favorite college attire on August 28.

Use  #KISDCollegeColors  to post your pictures to Twitter and follow along throughout the day to see photos from other campuses and departments!

While National College Colors Day is Friday, August 30, KISD will celebrate August 28 to allow our community to show support for its respective high school athletic programs on the first Friday gameday of the 2019 season.

Keller ISD AVID hopes you will join in as we kick-off the school year with a focus on college-readiness!
