Recognizing the children, families, caregivers, and professionals whose lives and work are connected to the foster care system matters.  At Adoption Option, Inc., we reflect that recognition in our year-round commitment to providing meaningful support and high-quality services to the children and families we serve.

Our foster care services reach children and families across multiple communities throughout Michigan. We serve clients as far north as Alpena and as far south as Wayne County. While every community and every family we serve is unique, our commitment remains the same: to provide exemplary, compassionate, and responsive services that recognize the strengths, needs, and experiences of each child and family.

At Adoption Option Inc., we understand that foster care is about more than placement. It is about relationships, safety, stability, healing, and creating opportunities for families to move forward. Whether we support a child, partner with a foster parent, work alongside a birth family, or collaborate with community partners, we strive to approach our work with professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.

As we continue to grow and serve families across Michigan, we remain grounded in our mission: Improving the lives of the children and families we serve. Every child matters. Every family matters. And every interaction is an opportunity to make a difference.

Rebuilding Trust, One Visit at a Time

One meaningful difference I made was helping two children and their mother after a long, difficult process. Prior to my involvement, the birth mother had worked with six different caseworkers and shared that she had never developed a strong connection or sense of trust with any of them. Having to repeatedly explain the traumatic circumstances that led to her children entering care was understandably difficult for her.

When I first met her, she appeared fearful, guarded, and hesitant to accept my support toward reunification. As I began working closely with the family, I focused on building a supportive and respectful relationship with her. Through consistent communication, encouragement, and advocacy, we gradually established a strong professional relationship built on trust. Over time, she became more comfortable working with me, more open to receiving support, and increasingly engaged in meeting her case goals.
