Fostering Holocaust Remembrance in OCDSB schools: By the numbers


Following Holocaust Education Month, OCDSB's Jewish Equity Instructional Coach Brian Kom shares thoughts about increasing Holocaust awareness in both students and educators, as well as the success of the programming that took place. He also shares some statistics about how many students, educators, and schools had the opportunity to engage with the material and what other ways students will engage with Jewish material in the upcoming semester.

Federation is thrilled to launch two new program-specific Instagram accounts for PJ Library Ottawa and Jewish Ottawa Young Adults. Followers can expect more frequent updates on programming, highlights from events, and more interactive content. Eriel Ben-Gal and Oren Baray, who are undertaking this endeavour, share their vision for what they hope to offer their new followers.

Voices: Ottawa welcomes first new Torah in decade


Rabbi Moshe Caytak of Chabad of Wellington West reflects on the joy of his shul welcoming Ottawa's first new Sefer Torah in nearly a decade, dedicated in honour of Dr. Joseph and Devora Caytak. The Caytaks have been pillars of Ottawa's Jewish community, founding impactful organizations such as the Jewish Youth Library and Camp Gan Israel, among many other significant contributions spanning decades.
