We’re thrilled that Florida will be one of the 12 states to take part in the IRS pilot program, Direct File. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, this initiative would allow eligible Americans to file their taxes directly with the IRS at no cost.

Thrilled to announce that Kissimmee Gateway Airport will receive $1 million from the Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade its air traffic control tower. We were proud to have written a letter of support for this project, and thanks to the Infrastructure Law, we continue to see investment in our community.

It was an honor to host U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Deputy Administrator Janet McCabe in Central Florida to highlight federally funded projects made possible by the Infrastructure Law. We hosted a roundtable at the BVL Library to discuss federally funded water infrastructure projects. These projects are aimed at supporting our local water supply, flood control, and restoration efforts. Thank you to the leaders of Toho Water, Orange County, and the City of Orlando for your insight. Then, we visited Meadow Woods Middle School to speak with students about the EPA’s Clean School Bus Program and demonstrate our commitment to a greener future. The EPA awarded OCPS $5 million to purchase 20 electric buses and replace current school buses with low- to zero-emission models.

Thrilled to host a roundtable with FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez and our veteran community. We discussed the importance of extending the Affordable Connectivity Program, which has been vital in delivering affordable, high-speed internet to nearly 80,000 households in our district. I was proud to have co-sponsored the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act of 2024, reaffirming our commitment to providing reliable, high-speed internet access to countless low-income households in Central Florida.

We were honored to celebrate exceptional women from our district during Women’s History Month, recognizing their remarkable contributions as trailblazers and leaders in FL-09. Thank you for inspiring us and serving as role models in our community.

Visited Windmar Solar’s state-of-the-art facilities and learned how the Inflation Reduction Act's 30% rebate on solar panels is helping advance renewable energy in Central Florida. We witnessed how sustainable practices have influenced both the environment and the local economy.

We had a successful Coffee With The Congressman at El Cafetal. Great to meet with local leaders about delivering higher-paying jobs, transportation, affordable housing, East Orlando flood control, and the SunRail/Brightline expansion.

We hosted a round table with Valencia College SGA students to dive into pressing issues affecting students like new high-tech jobs, student loan relief, affordable housing, expansions of I-4 SunRail/Brightline and Poinciana Parkway, and tackling climate change. Their voices are crucial in shaping our future!

Visited Kempfer Cattle Company in Deer Park, the largest family-owned ranch in FL-09. They play a crucial role in feeding communities across America. We discussed supporting healthy herds, long-term investments, conservation & the importance of passing the Farm Bill.

We had a productive discussion with students at Lake Nona High School about the impactful work we undertake in Congress. We discussed the three branches of government, promoting medical research at Lake Nona, affordable housing, securing federal funding for I-4, and SunRail/Brightline Expansions

We met with Full Sail University leaders including President Gary Jones, to discuss opportunities for enhancing Pell Grants. Besides being a leading visual arts institution, Full Sail also specializes in AI & cybersecurity. Thrilled to continue helping students advance their careers.
