Bridging communities: Shlichim visit Ottawa to deepen diaspora connections


Israeli shlichim Lihi Klein and Yuval Guetta are coming to Ottawa to strengthen connections between Israel and the Ottawa Jewish community. Their visit will focus on engaging diverse age groups and countering misconceptions about Israel. They aim to foster mutual understanding by sharing their perspectives and learning about Ottawa’s unique Jewish life.

WCPP launches Mother’s Day tribute card matching fund campaign


The Women's Collective Philanthropy Program (WCPP) launched a Mother's Day campaign, matching tribute card donations up to $54 per donor. Funds support Harmony House, a women's shelter, and Jewish Family Services' Shalom Bayit program for abuse victims. Donors can choose from one of two specially designed tribute cards created by Dr. Janet Dollin to honour someone special.

Volunteers power Jewish Ottawa: Spotlight on Jasmine Kranat


Jasmine Kranat, founder of the Atlantic Canada Holocaust Education Foundation, has become a key volunteer in Ottawa’s Jewish community since moving to the city in 2022. She serves on the Federation’s Shoah Committee and the Hillel Ottawa Advisory Committee, contributing significantly to Holocaust education and community engagement.

Leadership on campus: Supporting Hillel Ottawa during Global Giving Week


Student leader Gabriela Jinich Fainsod, President of Hillel Ottawa’s Carleton University division, has been instrumental in providing support and fostering resilience among Jewish students, especially following the events of October 7. She emphasizes the importance of community engagement and encourages open dialogue, noting that Hillel events are inclusive and open to all.
