St. Wendelin to host Karcher Series Concert March 5
The fourth annual season of the Karcher Concert Series will be held March 5. All concerts in this year's season are FREE to attend.
The fifth concert will welcome home a daughter of the parish, Erica Gabel. Erica graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2017 with a BA in Theatre and a minor in Arts Administration. Upon graduation, Erica spent the summer and fall performing with the Peanuts Gang at Cedar Point. In February of 2018, she accepted an internship at Writers Theatre in Glencoe, Illinois, which brought her to Chicago. She has remained there since then, taking classes at Acting Studio Chicago and working on short films and theatre productions. She is currently working on a production of the Greek tragedy, Antigone, with Playtime Theatre Company. Her dream is to work as a professional actor throughout Chicago and Los Angeles; but really, her biggest dream is to be cast in National Treasure 3!
Erica is a 2013 graduate of St. Wendelin Catholic School and a two-time recipient of the Karcher Music Scholarship. She will perform a concert of songs from popular musicals! You definitely want to come hear her sing and welcome her "home"!

ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Providers Honored with Reputation's 800 Award for High Customer Satisfaction
Several providers within the ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital network have been recognized by Reputation, a global leader in reputation experience management, with its 800 Award.
One of the highest achievements a business can earn, Reputation’s 800 Award highlights those that put customer experience at the very core of their strategy and are driven by the voice of the customer to succeed.
Locations that win the 800 Award consistently collect, understand, and apply any and all feedback so that they can make data-driven decisions to ensure that the customer will have the best possible experience.
ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital had three providers who were recognized with the 2023 800 Award: Heather Wilson, CNM, Jill Badik, DO, and Kristina Knoll, NP, with scores of 836, 802 and 802, respectively.
To determine 800 Award honorees, Reputation pulls a list of the Reputation Scores for every business location on the Reputation platform. Those that are honored will have achieved a score of 800 or higher due to their focus on high customer satisfaction throughout the past year.

Vision 2020 Launches Funding Campaign for Splash Pad
LET’S MAKE A SPLASH FOR FOSTORIA! We have a unique opportunity to demolish the dilapidated swimming pool at City Park along with the bath house, slide, and concession stand and replace them with a Splash Pad – Soak Park. We will utilize the current parking lot and create a family friendly area for our children to play in the water. The advantages to a Splash Pad – Soak Park vs. a swimming pool are: safety (as the surface of the splash pad will be poured rubber vs. concrete), maintenance, manpower (as we will not need lifeguards), a longer season, and upkeep.
Initial cost estimates by Poggemeyer Engineering came in at $550,000 for the Splash Pad. We hope to come in at substantially lower cost by doing a design build concept and doing some of the work ourselves.
The City of Fostoria, with the help of our legislators, was able to get an allocation of $150,000 from the Ohio State Capital budget. The City of Fostoria will allocate $100,000 from next year’s budget towards the project. The Greater Fostoria Community Foundation has also approved a grant of $100,000 IF the citizens of Fostoria contribute two for one raising $200,000 for this project.
Our original goal was to raise $200,000 from the public before April of 2023 so the project can begin this Spring and the Splash pad can be operational in 2024. Since the community has been so generous we are increasing this to a goal of $300,000 which will allow us to make the project even better for the youth of the community.
