We are pleased to announce the following new hires:
Yolanda Shields joined Geopier in February as Office Manager/Administrative Assistant. Yolanda completed her bachelor's degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has previously worked as an HR Specialist for various companies and is excited to be at Geopier. Josh Hubbard, PE,  is Geopier's new Sr. Project Engineer and will be responsible for providing design and technical support to Area Managers. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and his MS in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Josh worked at Apex Geoscience, Inc. and at Corsair Consulting. His most recent experience has been focused in the transportation sector, but he also has consulting experience in areas of commercial, industrial and public improvement geotechnical projects in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico. Josh moved from Dallas, TX to Charlotte with his wife, Melissa, and enjoys cooking, DIY projects and traveling. Andrés Melo-Duque joined Geopier as a Project Engineer, supporting North America and Latin America. He received his BS in Civil Engineering and his MS in Geotechnical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Andrés has over 7 years of experience, having previously worked for the TDM Group as Technical Manager, as well as Design Engineer for Geotecnia y Cimentaciones in Colombia. Andrés is married to a Civil Engineer, so they both share that passion for engineering and for cats too, since they have a cat very similar to the character of "Garfield." James Racine, PE, is Geopier's new Area Manager. He received his BS and MS in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. James spent the past 10 years working for a large geotechnical consulting firm in the Mid-Atlantic and has a variety of project experience across all industries in the DC metro area - but he especially enjoys evaluating slope stability. James moved from Falls Church, VA to Charlotte, NC with his wife, Ingrid, and his son, Bennett.
