We wish you a safe, healthy, and joyful new year. Let’s look with hope and optimism toward the promise of this year. Did you set a resolution for yourself? How are you progressing with your goals? May we always be kind to one another, and to ourselves!
ADSOEF anticipates a productive year in 2023.
Did you hear the call? - Apply to be a Foundation Director by February 1. Then you can share your enthusiasm, skills, and knowledge to strengthen the Alpha Delta State Ohio Educational Foundation. Voting for five directors happens at the ADSOEF Annual Meeting in April. With new directors replacing the outgoing, the leadership of your Educational Foundation will reorganize in July. We value the talents of the ten Directors serving on the board. The support of volunteers serving on committees is vital as well. Your contributions of time and skill are a gift!
Scholarship, grant, and fellowship applications are due February 1. Will you apply, or will you encourage someone to apply? The financial support offered to our beneficiaries is possible because of you! Recipients are very appreciative.
Thank you for supporting our mission so that together we can impact the future of education. We wish you and yours all the best this year!

It’s another year that flew by! I can’t describe how exciting everything I have experienced this entire year has been. Studying and working at the university has strengthened my experience here in the United States and has exceeded all my expectations.
I will not deny that I am going through a lot of emotions at this time because I miss my family and friends so much. I miss hugging my mom, talking with my dad, playing with my brother, laughing with my sister. However, experiencing a different Christmas makes me very excited and I feel very fortunate to know that my family supports me and loves me from afar.

GREETINGS FROM INDONESIA
DECEMBER 16, 2022
Dear Members,
I am already in Indonesia! It was a very hectic departure, as I did not plan to leave before December 10, but the ticket home was very expensive. I asked Fulbright to approve my travel before that date, as I could fly on December 5 using less money, and this was two days after my last class. At 1:30 AM on December 5 I traveled by train to Chicago because the Consular wanted to check my old passport. The train trip was not bad, but it took 9 hours. That afternoon I took a flight from Chicago, for 34 hours, to land in Jakarta, where I could not use any of the phones I bought in the US. The customs officers required me to register the IMEI number or they would block my phone numbers. I was very tired and had little energy for all the questioning, so I decided to take a train and head home. I cannot use or be contacted using my US number in Indonesia, except via Whatsapp, nor could I use my Indonesian number in my own country because I bought my phone in the US. A friend said, “My God, Della, your government treats you like a foreigner!” Two days after my arrival I bought another phone just to use my Indonesian number! Now I have three phones! Hahaha!
