The Foundation Board worked busily behind the scenes, but it was YOU who made Foundation Night a success. We thank you for your participation, generosity, and patience. It all paid off in a big way and will make a dramatic difference in many lives.

Our main goal is to raise money to support our programs but your experience at the meeting should also be informative and fun. Due to the resounding success of the evening, we are certain that all our objectives were met.

Foundation Night 2022 proved to be stellar! We promised lively entertainment and Silent and Live Auctions to rival any we have had before. You came, you bid, and you purchased charms and quilt tickets. And then we danced!

EVERYONE deserves a pat on the back and a loud round of applause for their part in a very successful fundraising evening. The entire weekend resulted in the THIRD highest fundraising sales ever of $48,035!

You proved this axiom true: We are all still in this together...and together we will continue to impact the world in a phenomenal way!

The FAWCO Foundation is YOUR Foundation. Please don't hesitate to contact anyone on the Board if you have ideas, recommendations, or questions. We love to hear from you!

Take Care,
Tracy Moede VPCommunications

Development Grant and Education Award Recipients
For FAWCO, FAUSA and individual members, the awards promote international understanding and goodwill. The program rewards and honors academic excellence and the all-around achievements of our members and their families.

The 2022 recipients plan to study in the U.S. or abroad at the high school, undergraduate and graduate levels.

The FAWCO Foundation Development Grants financially assist projects which are passionately supported by FAWCO Member Clubs and FAUSA.

The 2022 recipient projects will make a difference in people's lives all over the world! Thank you to all the clubs for your nominations and a huge thank you to all the clubs who voted!

Foundation Night 2022: In-Person!

Silent Auction
OneCause (formally Bid Pal) is a powerful platform that allowed us to fundraise with our popular Silent Auction via online bidding. The auction ran from the beginning of March until 8 pm on Foundation Night. There were 115 items up for bids and most all sold, to the tune of $8947 !

Many thanks to our Silent Auction coordinator, Carol-Lyn McKelvey (AIWC Cologne and FAUSA) and her trusty assistant Julie Meyerson (AIWC Cologne) for beautifully managing this new platform!

Live Auction
The Live Auction offered five wonderful travel experiences. A special thank you to all donors for your very generous donations. Bidding brought in a total of $29,100!

On the bidding block were a variety of destinations:

A one-week retreat in beautiful Rougemont, Switzerland donated by Ann Riz-Sandweiss.

Patricia Aeby donated a one-week stay in a chalet in the quintessential Alpine town of Wengen, Switzerland.

A four-day stay in Dubai, UAE, with a ride in an authentic “abra” and a “cultural meal” at the Sheikh Mohamed Centre for Cultural Understanding was donated by Monica Jubaili.

Kim Slattery donated a week in a luxury villa, nestled in a 4000 m2 olive grove in the heart of the Apokoronas region of northern Crete.

And last, but by no means least, a week at Rozanne van Rie's wonderful beach house in De Haan on the Belgian Coast near Brugge.

Many of the Live Auction items were so popular that the owners graciously offered an additional week to a second and even third matching bidder.

Sandy Gogel, (AWG Paris) served as this year's very enthusiastic auctioneer. Well done and thank you, Sandy!
144 Envelopes

Fundraising at the Interim Meetings and Biennial Conferences is the only opportunity for The Foundation to raise money to support the Development Grant and Education Award programs.

We decided to take a page from our own fundraising idea book and offer 144 Envelopes for purchase throughout the weekend. Each envelope was filled with an inspirational quote and a raffle ticket for a donated quilt. It is only appropriate that our own quilt queen, Roberta Zöllner, took home the prize!

Your generosity helped raise $4177!
2022 FAWCO Friendship Quilt

The winner of the 2022 FAWCO Friendship Quilt Raffle via the "Wheel of Names" was:

Hollie Nielsen of AWC Central Scotland!!

The quilt, designed and quilted by Roberta Zöllner, comprised 118 donated squares from 32 members of 15 FAWCO clubs and FAUSA.

The quilt is always a huge undertaking. Heartfelt thank-you's go out to Roberta, the quilt square donors, and quilt ticket purchasers all over the world, who helped make $3911 in donations a reality!
Luxembourg Foundation Charm

The 2022 charm was sold in Luxembourg and raised $740. If you listen carefully, you can hear them clink on the bracelets of many FAWCO members!

There are still charms available! They can be purchased by contacting Lauren M. at vpfundraising@fawcofoundation.org

One can be yours for only $20!
