Dear Friends,

Welcome to a new season with the Bethesda Center for Spirituality!

As Bethesda-by-the-Sea celebrates its Centennial, the BCS looks to the future with a new season centered on Foundations of Faith. This year brings exciting new opportunities to learn, grow, ask questions, and deepen our life in Christ—from a fresh Sunday Forum format with engaging topics and speakers, to daytime and evening Bible, to retreats and engaging guest speaker events throughout the year. Looking ahead to 2027, three new Bethesda 101 courses—Bible 101, Prayer 101, and Worship 101—will join Bethesda 101 and Episcopal 101 to create a pathway to discipleship for everyone at Bethesda-by-the-Sea. And this season we’re introducing a new BCS tradition: summer pilgrimage. You’ll hear more about our “Anglican Foundations” pilgrimage to England in the months ahead!

I invite you to watch this short video to hear more about Foundations of Faith and what we’re looking forward to this year at the Bethesda Center for Spirituality.

Below, you’ll find a preview of our first Bethesda Center for Spirituality monthly newsletter, featuring opportunities to learn, gather, and grow this October. Each month, the BCS newsletter will share upcoming programs, events, resources, and reflections from the Bethesda Center for Spirituality.

October brings opportunities to explore, learn, and grow together with the Bethesda Center for Spirituality. This month, we’ll gather for Bible studies, continue exploring the Christian faith through Alpha, and look back at all that has been happening around our campus. Whether you’re joining us in person or on Zoom, we hope you’ll find something that speaks to your curiosity and deepens your connection to our community.
