Brothers,

Founders Day is the time of year when we reflect on 120+ years of Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love. It is a time of great happiness for us and an opportunity to give back to the Fraternity we all love through the Founder’s Day of Giving (FDOG). This year, unfortunately, it is also a time of sorrow for many of us as Brother Ed Ramcharran passed away last week. For those that knew him, you know how much he will be missed- always the biggest smile in the room, the warmest heart, and one of the most dedicated brothers we have known.

Ed leaves behind a wife, Angelica, who is carrying their first child and many of us want to help Ed’s family. I can think of nothing more Virtuous or a better expression of Brotherly Love than helping out at this time.

I am humbly asking that you join me in giving to two great causes. With one donation (of any amount), you can help both the SigEp undergraduates AND Ed’s Family. One donation to SigEp’s Founders Day of Giving will be matched dollar for dollar twice, once to the Ed Ramcharan Florida Prepaid Memorial Fund that we are creating, and once again to the SigEp FL Nu Founders Day of Giving.

3. Click In Memory Of and Type in Ed Ramcharran (no need to fill out emails recipient info, but please leave a message for Ed/his family).

4. Make sure Florida International University is the designated school (so the FDOG gift gets credited to FL Nu)

Your donation will go to two great causes:

Ed Ramcharran College Prepaid Memorial Fund - Your FDOG donation will help raise money for Ed’s unborn child’s education. For every dollar we raise for FDOG, I will match it in the creation of a Prepaid College Plan for Ed and Angelica’s child due in January.

Founders Day of Giving — I will match your donation a second time up to $10,000 to encourage our brothers to to donate. Your gift will provide critical support and leadership opportunities to FIU undergraduates. Our chapter fundraising goal is $20,000, and with your assistance we can meet or exceed that goal. 

It will also help advance FIU in the nationwide SigEp Chapter Challenge for most donors and/or most dollars raised. Last year FL Nu ranked in second among all chapters in money raised, and 13th in number of donors. I know we can meet our goal this year and have our FL Nu flag flying at HQ for the whole year. 

Additionally, if we can get to 125 donors at any amount I will add in an extra $5000 for both causes. So, please ask all your fraternity brothers to give- even if just $10.

You don't have to wait until Founders Day to start contributing, click here to donate. Please give early, and encourage others to do so also. We can all be a part of helping Ed’s family and supporting the fraternity through Founder’s Day of Giving. Thank you for your support.
