On December 17, 2021, the OC Health Care Agency Reports the first Omicron COVID-19 variant case in Orange County. The adult male resident of Orange County is fully vaccinated and experienced mild illness. The illness occurred following domestic travel outside California. The OC Health Care Agency is following up on any close contacts.

Opportunity for Volunteer Service
|
The City of Fountain Valley is accepting applications from volunteers to sit on the following Committees, Commissions and Boards: Planning Commission, Fountain Valley Community Foundation, Fountain Valley Housing & Community Development Advisory Board, Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities, and Measure HH Oversight Board. Applications are available in the City Clerk’s Office located at 10200 Slater Avenue, Fountain Valley.

Strategic Planning Update
|
On November 4, 2021, City Council and the Management Team completed the Strategic Planning Workshop facilitated by Snider and Associates (on Zoom) at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center. The team restated the City’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Three-Year Goals.

Mayor's Breakfast - January 20, 2022
|
We are excited to ring in the New Year with the return of the Mayor’s Breakfast on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 8 a.m. at the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital in the Saltzer Conference Room. This is the same location we had in the past years. We plan to have the Mayor’s Breakfast on a quarterly basis in 2022 and we would like to thank Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for hosting and providing the City with the facility and breakfast.

2022 Water Awareness Poster Contest
|
The Municipal Water District of Orange County just announced its annual Water Awareness Poster Contest. All Orange County students in grades K-12 are invited to create hand-drawn posters that reflect the theme: #OCisWaterSmart. A total of 40 winners will be selected from the posters received.

Don’t Invite Sewer Blockages to Your Holiday Party
|
The holidays mean more cooking and time with family but it also means more cooking oil and grease that can get washed or thrown down the kitchen sink. The buildup of these oils in plumbing lines is the primary cause of sewer line blockages.

Volunteers are at The CENTER of Our Success
|
The Center at Founders Village Senior & Community Center has many volunteers that are at THE CENTER of our success! Volunteering offers many benefits like connecting you to others, increasing self-confidence, and bringing fun and fulfillment to your life.

This service will be back at The Center at Founders Village starting in February! You can make an appointment beginning Wednesday, January 25th. Christmas Tree & Cardboard Recycling
|
Republic Services will be offering Christmas tree and cardboard recycling. From December 26, 2021, through January 9, 2022, Republic Services will recycle non-artificial Christmas trees placed at the curb on your regular collection day. Collected trees are shredded into ground cover material and mulch to avoid disposal at the landfill.

Sandbag Station Locations
|
The City of Fountain Valley has two sandbag stations available to residents:
· City Yard – 17300 Mt. Herrmann
· Recreation Center/Sports Park - access road off Brookhurst, between the tennis courts and David L. Baker Memorial Golf Course.

City Council Committee/Board Appointments for 2022
|
Annually, the newly elected Mayor assigns City Council to represent the City on various committees and boards throughout the region.

Pubic safety is a priority for our community. Fountain Valley Fire and Police Departments monitor Emergency calls routinely.
