COVID-19 UPDATE
To support outreach and communication at the county and city level, the State of California has put together resources including county specific logos and social media assets under the Vaccinate All 58 campaign. 


City Council and New Mayor/Mayor Pro Tem
In December 2020, the City Council reorganized and citizens of Fountain Valley voted for Glenn Grandis and Ted Bui to serve as City Council Member from December 2020 to November 2024. City Council also selected Michael Vo as Mayor and Patrick Harper as Mayor Pro Tem for 2021.

At the December 1, 2020 City Council Meeting, City Council and Local Partners thanked Mayor Cheryl Brothers and Council Member Steve Nagel for their years of service to make Fountain Valley “A Nice Place to Live”. Mayor Cheryl Brothers and Council Member Steve Nagel are dedicated public servants and always volunteer their time at City events and/or community events.
Christmas Tree Recycling
The City will offer Christmas trees and cardboard recycling, through Republic Services. From December 26, 2020 through January 9, 2021, Republic Services will recycle non-artificial Christmas trees placed at the curb on your regular collection day. Collected trees are shredded into ground cover material and mulch to avoid disposal at the landfill. 
The Recreation Center, 16400 Brookhurst Street, will be closed Sunday, December 21, 2020 through Sunday, January 3, 2021. The Recreation Center will re-open on Monday, January 4, 2021.

Laughter Yoga – Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. via Zoom
Do you have enough laughter in your life? Did you know that you can turn laughing into exercise? Join us for Laughter Yoga where we will combine laughter with yoga breathing to make exercise fun!
2021 Winter Fountain Pen
The City of Fountain Valley is committed to finding ways for you to stay active and engaged during these challenging times. The 2021 Digital Fountain Pen is filled with online and in person classes to keep you busy. Registration is available online or in person at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center. 
Holiday Trash and Street Sweeping Schedules
The City of Fountain Valley will be on a modified trash collection and street sweeping schedule due to the Christmas and New Year holidays.

In observance of the Christmas holiday on Friday, December 25, 2020, trash collection will be moved to Saturday, December 26, 2020. 
The City in partnership with County of Orange and 360 Clinic will provide free walk-up kiosk COVID-19 testing at Fountain Valley Sports Park on Tuesdays and Sundays through January 24, 2021. Appointment is required so register at Covid Testing | 360 Clinic | United States. 
Your Sanitary Sewer vs. Storm Drain - What's the Difference
Storm drains are SEPARATE from the sewer system.
The sewer system takes all the water from inside homes and businesses (such as sinks, bathtubs, washing machines, and toilets) and sends it to a water treatment facility where the water is cleaned before being released to the ocean.

Public Safety is a priority for our community. Fountain Valley Fire and Police Departments monitor Emergency calls routinely.
