COVID-19 Update
Due to recent increases in COVID-19 case counts, Orange County was moved to "High" community transmission status as of July 14, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 Community Level Data Tracker.  
2022 General Municipal Election
A General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Fountain Valley on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the election of the following officers:
Three (3) Members of the City Council - Full term of four (4) years. The nomination period for these offices begins on Monday, July 18, 2022, and closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022. Nomination papers are only available from the City Clerk during regular office hours. The City Clerk’s Office is located at City Hall, 10200 Slater Ave, Fountain Valley.
GPAC Quadrant 2 Appointment
On Tuesday, July 19 City Council appointed Cheryl Brothers to the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC). Cheryl will serve as an at-large member of the GPAC representing Quadrant 2. Quadrant 2 is the area north of Slater Avenue and east of Brookhurst Street.
Recreation & Community Services Department Update
The City of Fountain Valley is proud to host National Night Out on August 2, 2022, at the Fountain Valley Sports Park. This event starts at 6 p.m. and will feature displays from The Fountain Valley Police Department, West County SWAT, and much more.
Prado Grand Opening Celebration
A Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 20 to celebrate the completion of the City’s first affordable housing complex in almost two decades.
Mayor's Breakfast Recap
On July 21, Mayor Patrick Harper put on another successful Mayor's Breakfast hosted by the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital. Mayor Pro Tem Constantine and Council Member Bui were also in attendance. 
Jr. Firefighters Summer Camp Recap
In collaboration with the Fountain Valley Fire Department, the Recreation & Community Services Department worked to organize and host the first-ever Fountain Valley Jr. Firefighters Summer Camp.

Public safety is a priority for our community. Fountain Valley Fire and Police Departments monitor Emergency calls routinely.
